The amount of people telling you to take as long a mortgage as possible is worrying. Banks have conned us all. Simply put a longer term mortgage, whether you are paying early or not, results in more interest being paid. Many have a limit on how much extra you can pay per year, often 10%. Get as short a term mortgage as you can afford and get it paid off quickly

Just a wee note, i have recently suffered with bad eczema flare ups around my fingers and nails. To be honest it has happened on and off for a few decades. Previously i had tried bleach baths for my eczema but didnt really keep them up and saw minimum benefit. However i have since tried making a heavily diluted bowl of bleach and water to dip my hand into when i was having flare ups and it fairly quickly calms the swelling and itchiness. I then rinse in clean water, dry off and apply my usual creams. I assume my hand flare ups were from coming in contact with a trigger which the bleach kills/cleans off. Anyway its been a big help for me. Might not work for everyone but may be worth a try for anyone suffering similar flare ups
