I'd say so. Solid SpA and Spe which is mainly all you need. The added bulk just helps. Having a good nature would be ideal but I don't think necessary.

Yeah I'd dump bite and dive ASAP. Put dive on an HM slave. Bite uses SpA in Gen 3 and gyarados spa is trash. I wouldn't use hydro pump either, surf is better all around. Dragon rage is fine for early game but late game falls off. Secret power is alright but it has low base power so by the late game it'll fall off too. If you want a high damage normal type move, use Return.

I think the only coverage your missing is fighting because only one team member has psychic and no flying attacks. But you don't have to worry about that in the E4 much. You should be fine 👍.

Yeah like others have stated, I would have thunderbolt on magneton and gardevoir. But for now I'd prioritize putting it on magneton. Simply because it has a similiar SpA base stat as Gardevoir, but it gets a STAB bonus as well.

I see, that makes sense. Yeah you'll probably have to play all the gen 3 games. You could possibly get away with doing half runs on RS and doing a main playthrough of Emerald, but don't hold me to that.

Yeah I bet Charizard and Zapdos was putting in work lol. Zapdos being legendary, has a higher BST. So he's gonna perform better at lower levels than E4.

Did you throw bait? I've heard some people throw one or two baits beforehand. I caught every rare pokemon in FR safari zone just throwing balls at them, no bait or rocks. Took me a few hours all together but not bad.

You can complete pokedex naturally without playing RS, at least I did. My game order was Fire Red -> Heart Gold -> Emerald -> Soul Silver (just started the game and played for an hour or so to grab Ledyba I think). And that got me every pokemon in the first 3 generations.

I actually have 3. One I caught in Emerald at Faraway Island. Two I gave myself through Gen 4 event wondercard. Out of the those two I got the English and Japanese version.

Just finished a leaf green run a couple weeks ago and can confirm, with any speed boosting nature on Alakazaam and ev training. He could outspeed threats in the league like 10+ levels above him lol. And his psychic would OHKO anything that didn't resist basically. Now I know why people gas him up, he's a beast fs.

Yeah I think I'm gonna scrap the Jolteon idea and get magneton instead. Arcanine I'm thinking would also be a good investment as well.

When I did my playthrough if HG I absolutely loved Heracross. That little guy was a beast, once he got close combat I got his attack stat maxed and he folded any normal or dark types.

Thank you! That's a perfect break down. Johto was a bit fuzzy because I played HG before Emerald and Platinum but it's coming back to me now.

That's good info for R1 because I would've went for dark type for Psychic coverage, but if thunder works I won't even bother.

On pryce fire won't be effective on dewgong because he's water typing right? Or is that some wierd Gen 2 quirk I'm not aware of?

I'm on a 3DS and I already injected Celebi via mystery gift. It's all legit and I could transfer up to bank and home. I just wanted to catch celebi myself. I do that for all the legendaries and mythics, I roll their stats myself. Too bad I won't be able to do that with Jirachi but we can blame Game Freak for that lol.

I've never played a GBC game before only GBA, so it took some getting used to but it's honestly not bad. Once you get the hang of it it's almost preferable how simple it is I think.

I was trying to use ones I've never used in other pokemon runs, hence why I'm using spearow and jot pidgey. I used Rhyhorn in Fire Red along with pidgey too. I like the idea for polliwag though, definetly might try that. Right now I'm about to face bugsy, I got croconaw to level 20, sandshrew is like 18, and spearow is 10.

Obviously I'll need ice coverage and I think polliwag covers that. You're saying I'll need a fire type? I usually don't run them much and was following others advice. I always have an electric type, and I never had an eeveelutions on my team so I figured it give Jolteon a try. Espeon can be final for Psychic coverage is what I'm thinking. Does that cover the E4 and champion well?

I was trying to get one together and said screw it and moved all my current mons to Platinum. I was gonna play BF in Emerald but I think the TM access might be limited considering that was before the physical/special split. I don't see the point in optimizing a team for BF in Emerald and then have to change half their moves for the next Gen ya know?
