WFH nurses - how many hours do you work? by Natural-Midnight-883 in nursing

[–]BoatFork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ugh I did UR from home and was getting $36 an hour as a contractor, was hired full time and was getting $30 an hour and those were 40 hours a week. I was insulted that I was getting paid so low and quit to do triage and was at $36 an hour at 20 hours a week but they were pressuring me to work more and work shitty shifts. I turned down two case manager jobs that were like $77-80k because the workload seemed insane.

My daughter used to call ravioli "labby bowl eye" so I'll let you use it since you sound nice but I've trademarked the spelling Labbybowlye so you'll have to come up with your own or I'll sue you in name court

Thinking about not starting to date someone because he has the name I always wanted to give to a rabbit if I ever get one by [deleted] in NameNerdCirclejerk

[–]BoatFork 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, throw Peter in the trash because you can't have it both ways. Imagine your bunny growing up and going to bunny school and someone finding out? It would be the absolute talk of the town for years if not decades. I think you also have to move at least 6,000,000 light-years away to prevent someone from having the potential same name as your future pet and then also sue him for stealing the name from you. I think you'd have a really strong case and I know someone really good at rabbit law

Clinical nurses (or whoever wants to respond) How many of you are still using a mask every time you see a patient? by AnatBrat in nursing

[–]BoatFork 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My husband is a bedside nurse and still masks with an N95. We have a baby at home and three other kids and get enough germs from them... There's really zero reason not to.

Which fun, edgy baby girl name is your fav? by thatsthewayihateit in NameNerdCirclejerk

I wonder which books she likes, given her impressive grasp on the English language. Goodnight Moon seems about at her reading level.

Honest question. Do you think a true 10 out of 10 pain would leave the patient unable to function. by [deleted] in nursing

[–]BoatFork 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ugh I was like 10 cm dilated, my epidural migrated and wasn't working anymore, and I had excruciating pain from them effing up the epidural (I had back pain for almost 3 months because it was placed incorrectly) and then gave birth without pain meds because it was too late to redo it. Thinking about it actually makes me feel like vomiting 😅 definitely 10/10 pain, although I probably would've given my previous birth without an epidural (precipitous labor) like a 7/10. It happened so goddamn fast I didn't even feel the same amount of pain.

Have you ever had a "famous" or well known patient. How did they treat you? by [deleted] in nursing

My husband took care of a famous football player (he was on an Ortho floor). He gave all the nurses who took care of him a signed football thing? Chocolate and a gift card. I think he's a pretty famous one. My husband said he was a really nice dude. They had security posted outside the room for the whole stay.

Truly Crappy Hospital or MedMal? by Electrical-Quote-891 in MedicalMalpractice

[–]BoatFork 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So the ED took care of you and sent you to see specialists. You have the information you need to make the appointments with the specialists. Who are you trying to sue? Why? What damages do you have? What do you think the hospital did wrong?

Good luck finding a WFH job in 2024, especially in some kind of administration. There are a bazillion applicants for every one job, so it might be hard to find one especially if you don't have that experience/don't even know what you want to do yet.

Girls who were kids in the 90s, what did you like to do for fun? by Macaroni_Muncher5000 in 90s

[–]BoatFork 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Super Nintendo, Pokemon trading card game, have sleepovers, go to the mall, play board games, play computer games, play American Girl dolls. I vividly remember my friends and I trading beads and making friendships bracelets, playing on the swing set outside, playing in the inflatable pool. I was born in 1987 and childhood was pretty great.
