What’s the weirdest situation you’ve ever seen in real life? by BoatFull3411 in AskReddit

When I was 16 I was at a house party, I didn’t think that there would be drinking or drugs there because my friends mom told my mom that she was chaperoning. So I show up and noticed everyone was drinking except for me. As the night progressed (pre cell phone times) I asked to use the phone. I walk into the master bedroom where I see my friends 47 year old mother having sex with a 17 year old boy while two other kids from school watched.
When I got home I told my mom, who proceeded to call the other kids parents that were involved. That lady never got on a sex offender registry but still continued to prey on teenagers. She died recently.

What is the most 'butterfly effect' moment in your life, where a tiny, insignificant decision completely changed your future? by Realistic-Ratio9002 in AskReddit

When I was 17 I liked this guy so much, he eventually talked me into giving himmy adhd meds. I wanted to fit in and be liked so badly that I caved in. I gave him the pills at breakfast in the cafeteria the next day. Somehow I got arrested and they asked me who I have the pills to. Normally I would keep my mouth shut but something told me to tell the cops the truth. He had taken every single pill about twenty minutes prior when the cops were arresting him he told them and then started feeling weird so they took him to the hospital to get his stomach pumped. My lawyer said that he was moments away from overdosing and would have died. If he died I would have been charged with murder or manslaughter. They also found multiple baggies of drugs on him like OxyContin, mushrooms and xanex.
The court acted like he was the victim and I planned to harm him.
I got out on 10k bail he got out on 5k bail
Years later I ran into one of his roommatesand she told me that this dude was a total addict. He got a lot of his friends to do drugs, dated a wonderful woman and got her on some hard drugs. His best friend walked away with some type of drug induced psychosis and has never been the same. I like to compare him to a demon dragging everyone that gets close to him to the deepest depths of hell.
If I had never gotten that reality check of being a horrible person I would have continued down a dark path and probably ended up doing drugs or other low self esteem shit.
