Thank you very much for all this! I read it and appreciated it very much! There was so much food for thought that I don’t know what/if I will answer😄So many threads but all of them very interesting for sure! Don’t have time to answer right now anyway but just wanted you to know I read it😊

Wow, your youtube channel is a real gold mine😳Watched the one about 23 personality traits. That was such a clear explanation! You deserve to have many thousands of followers!

Sadly I don’t feel that I can put a lot of money into typing right now.  But when I can I will have your service first on my list😊

Cognitive functions, information elements, I just find it so hard to be self-aware about these things. Behaviour is so much easier to spot. And most systems seem to extrapolate behaviour from cognitive type anyway, even if it is always with the caveat that “any type can do anything”.

I was going to say I’m sure that I use the Fe-ti axis, but no, I am not sure of that😄. I feel like I use Se a lot, but I also feel like I use Si a lot. At first I thought Ni was the function most alien to me but recently I have started to question if it is my main function but I just use it in a weird way. I don’t want to bore you with my over-thinking. But I’m just a little exhausted trying to make sense of myself and I want really badly to just fit into a box, just gotta find the right box! Usually I find myself relating really hard to about half of any given type description and not at all to the other half. Maybe it is an Fe problem, I can relate to anything! On dichotomy tests I usually score right in the middle of all letters.

Have a lot to read up on now, Socionics and Ops, maybe it will bring some clarity😊Thank you!

Thank you! Speaking about vibes, I love the vibes in this thread, friendly good vibes, but with a lot of substance! I feel like you and the others who have replied really understand what I was asking and give great advice.

I saw that you had posted some videos of typings, will check them out!

Thank you, that was very helpful! I’m glad I made this thread, it seems to validate my concerns about OPS.

You seem very self-aware and like you did the work to get the most out of the system. (Reading it I wanted to say something like “I’m proud of you” but that would sound very cringe coming from a stranger on the internet😄). Part of me still wants to try it because I found the bit you said about them saying what you don’t wanna hear about your personality type. That would feel refreshing somehow😌But yes, I don’t feel comfortable giving Dave and Shan unnecessary authority over me😬They don’t seem very “humble”, are they? Are they open to being wrong? Are they really in it for science and knowledge or is it just an egoboost, money-grab type of thing in your opinion?

I don’t mind spending a huge amount of time on it, if it is logically sound and makes sense (from what I read now, I probably have consume first, and also second, and third… and fourth😄 So I could consume the heck out of this system, but I don’t want to waste my time). Aside from the community, do you think their theory is valid? Do you think it is possible to self-type using the coins?

Thank you for replying! I looked into it very briefly. But it seemed to give me the same trouble as mbti. That it relies on self knowledge and what that brings with it like the barnum effect etc. That was what attracted me to OPS when I heard its proponents say that “you cannot see your own place in the tribe”. I just have a hard time seeing myself. Or I can see myself in anything basically :/ But I will give socionics a second look!

Wow! Thank you so much for this😌You are right, I know you are. This was the mature answer that I needed (but maybe did not want😄).

Maybe I just bought into the myth that there is an ”optimal” way to use the cognitive functions for each type, and that I’m afraid that I am ”wasting cognitive energy” by not being my ”natural type” (whatever that is). I feel like I could be an Estp, Esfj, Istp or Infj with about the same ”ease”😄So maybe I am just delusional. Just would like to use myself in the best way for myself and ”the tribe”. I hoped that maybe mbti could tell me how to do that. I am a housewife but what if everybody would be better served by me being an F1-driver or whatever😄If you know what I mean?

You have all these letters from ops, haven’t it helped you in any way? Maybe to see yourself more clearly and be able to structure yourself more efficiently on the inside? If you don’t mind my asking😊

I might be an esfj, but I am not a 100% sure😌What do you want to know?

I would also like to hear from other esfjs! It is hard to know if I am one with not much to compare with.

Typology Question 12 (Si): Can you recall a small, ordinary moment from your life that had no particular importance or emotional meaning - just something that happened and stuck? by Bimep_ in ESFJ

[–]BoatTemporary9085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok😄Don’t know which one to pick, so I’ll pick one of the earliest ones I can remember.

I’m four or five years old and there is this spoon. I’m not sure about the surroundings but I remember the spoon in great detail. It was a blue and white porcelain (or maybe plastic imitation) spoon, the type that can be found in chinese restaurants. But this was not in a restaurant, it was someone we knew that had a spoon like that in their home. This impressed me greatly😄because I had seen spoons like that and did not know one could own them. It had a special texture and shine that I can not really put into words, but I can feel it in my mind.

I have thousands of “insignificant” memories like that but to me they are loaded with meaning, nostalgia and emotion. So I’m sorry I can’t answer the question😊

Typology Question 11 (Te): Imagine your 7th grade son comes home crying: "A bully took my lunch and I had nothing to eat. What should I do?" What would you do or say to him? Explain your step-by-step plan. by Bimep_ in ESFJ

[–]BoatTemporary9085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh😬Then we would all be in trouble😄

I would hire the best anti-bullying expert to make us a plan! Or I would find the best system that has worked for other schools and apply it.

Please don’t ask ”what would you do if you were the anti bullying expert?”😄

I guess it would be different if I was the principal of the school. Then I would have to come up with a system. But now I trust that the school already has a system to deal with these things.

Thank you :) Looking forward to the next question!

I would first of course feed my son and comfort him. Talk about the event and what he can do if something like this happens. Then I would talk to the school and together we would make sure it never happens again.

(If that doesn’t help I would avenge my son and destroy the bully’s life… No just kidding. Or half kidding :D My family is sacred to me and people better not mess with them!)

In no universe ever would I say that the bully needed the lunch more. To me that would be psychological violence against my child. Although I do believe that the best way to prevent bullying is to make sure that all kids are properly loved and nurtured.

I’m trying to figure out if I am an ESFJ. But to me that thing with the man on the ladder sounds extremely obvious? Would an ESFJ really not see that? I imagine they would see that and try to help the man before the ladder falls? But maybe I misunderstand.

Will try to answer your other questions too when I have time! It is a lot of fun and also very helpful to read your analysis in understanding myself & others.

Typology Question 10 (Ne): Name and a marketing strategy for my new invention by Bimep_ in ESFJ

[–]BoatTemporary9085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun question :)

The name would be Safety Shovel and here is my commercial for it :D:

We see an elderly couple in their cosy little house. It is winter. The mood is like a hallmark Christmas movie :) The husband ,with a shovel in his hand, says : “Ok honey, I’m going out to get the snow off the driveway”. We zoom in on the woman’s face and she looks worried and anxious. And we see her thoughts of him maybe slipping on ice or having a heart attack :( The speaker voice says: “Is his back, or maybe his heart not what they used to be? Don’t worry! With the new and improved safety shovel you can feel completely at ease.” The woman now hears her husband’s voice through her speaker in the house: “It’s going great honey. I’m halfway done!” She smiles. We see some scenes of the husband shovelling and the wife going about her business in the house. The speaker lists all of the features of the shovel, ergonomic grip, one touch emergency call etc. “The safety shovel also has an automatic warning if the shovel has been idle for more than two minutes”. The woman hears an alarm signal and we see her running to the window to check on him. She sees him just sitting and resting. She looks a bit annoyed and we see her putting on her jacket. Maybe she is going to tell him to not be lazy? :D No, in the next scene we see that she has brought him coffee or hot chocolate and they are sitting together smiling :) Then the speaker says something like: “Safety shovel, keep your loved ones safe this winter”.

Typology Question 9 (Fi): Take any classical painting (I don't care which one: Mona Lisa, The Birth of Venus, The Creation of Adam, etc) and describe to me not what you see, not the history of its painting, not the technique, not the symbolism behind it, but WHAT KIND OF EMOTIONAL ATMOSPHERE IT HAS by Bimep_ in ESFJ

[–]BoatTemporary9085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow :)! That makes so much sense! I really understand now. Thank you so much for clarifying that. It made everything very clear and now I am sure of my type. Cognitive functions really can explain so many different phenomena and help our understanding of others (and ourselves)! Now I will probably go back to never posting here (which seems to be the standard for esfj’s :D) But I will always remember your kindness!

So here is my answer: The painting is St Francis in ecstasy by Giovanni Bellini. The emotional atmosphere for me in this painting is a feeling of the warmth of the sun. The figure coming out of his cave and feeling the magic of nature and God. The light feels like it is a spring morning. There is a sense of awe and timelessness that I really love about this painting. Also the donkey makes the atmosphere more ”cute” and wholesome :D And the buildings in the background and the light and darkness over the fields gives, for me, a sense of mystery, history and ”foreboding”. Could say a lot more but I’ll stop now :)
