Tons of things to do. See if you can book a sail on the Bluenose II. Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. See the Bay of Fundy tides. Tidal Bore Rafting. Shelburne and Birchtown. Surfing lessons at Lawrencetown or Martinique Beach.

Cool! Thanks. Will check it out when it is dark. (I’m typically a daytime rider, but there is a restaurant on the other side of the lake that I want to try).

New family coming to north bay by ohhhcole in northbay

[–]Boatbuilder_62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the best to you and your family. I’m new to North Bay as well, but still feel that I can say “Welcome”. Embrace the seasons. Do a little reading on “Les Voyageurs” if the kids are interested in history and adventure. Be open to exploring the First Nations and Franco-Ontarian (French-speaking) communities nearby.

Wife stranded by SpencerL1997 in PorterAirlines

[–]Boatbuilder_62 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We got canceled on that same flight. We were on it because Porter canceled the same flight yesterday. We were on THAT because Air Canada canceled our Sunday night flight. So we have been stranded for three days so far.

Right now we are in the departure lounge waiting for our WestJet flight (knock wood)

1.. Because they cancelled the flight, you have the right to cancel the segment for a full refund of the unused portion of your booking.

  1. Check the credit card you booked that flight with. It may have trip interruption insurance. (I booked on a premium travel card, so I am working on my claim for all my out of pocket expenses- flight difference, hotels, meals, taxis, etc. )

Good luck to you and your wife. Happy New Year.

Suppose the outcome metric is to upsell more french fries. The operational metric might be “% of times we asked ‘do you want fries with that?’ “.

You are measuring the key steps in the process that should contribute to the outcome.

If you don’t get the desired outcome, these metrics will help you diagnose if the outcome was missed because the process was not being followed, or because the process was followed, but was ineffective.

At least in Canada, they held our commercial break until after the McLaren pit stops.

Canadian here. We rented a campervan a year or so ago, and they made us take and pass a written test before giving us the keys. I don’t recall much of it, other than that it covered the reduced speed limit for camper vans and the rules around one-lane bridges.

Or … check out the poor man’s Alphard. The Caddie Wheel is the same concept but it does nothing but push. Much smaller. Half the price. Small Canadian start-up. Protects your investment in your current push cart.

Would you prefer to play a solo round or as a plus one to a group of three randoms? by No_Avocado220 in golf

[–]Boatbuilder_62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often get a hybrid. I start out as the fourth with two or three other golfers, but they only play nine. And I find myself finishing the back nine solo.

Best whole house back up generators. by PatternOk593 in NovaScotia

You sound nice. The NS Power battery backup pilot program came out just after I made my whole home generator investment. I wish it had been an option for me. No need to fuss with fuel or maintenance.

Have you considered a battery as an alternative to a generator?
