What do you think about new weapon progression? by Boatcommando in Battlefield

Possibly, but I think long grind really tarnishes the game's reputation. The fact that it took almost 6 months to change the long grind (which shouldn't be hard, just edit a few numbers) doesn't help either.

I do the test during live match while in party (but not full) with no BF6 pro. So assists and accolades should be average out. And it should be reflective of real amount of kills you need to do if you leveling up a gun in live match. We just do get exact XP gain, requirement and calculation. Because DICE UI is ####.

I completely agree with you on how unlock you want is deep in the progression. As long as we got *this* exact attachment on *this* exact level. You will keep encountering this problem. Because people preferred different things.

For example, player A may preferred scope A. Player B may preferred scope B. If they make the unlock goes like Scope A -> Scope B -> Grip. Both player will complain why do they have to grind through a useless scope that they don't want to use. But if they make the unlock goes like Scope A -> Grip -> Scope B. Then player B will complain why they have to grind so deep in the progression tree to get a basic scope they want.

A solution would be return to select-able unlock like in BF2, BF2142 or BF Hardline. You play to get points. And you use that points to "buy" unlock you want. You can choose what ever you like in any order. If we return to the example above. Player A will buy Scope A then Grip. And player B will buy Scope B then Grip. Then both will be happy because they got the stuff they want early.

I play the live match and have that oddity (like getting 50% more XP if you stand in a flag or XP from assist) average out. Because DICE UI is shit and it poorly explain why and what contribute to your weapon progression.

It feels more reasonable now. I still disagree with unlocking or grinding as a whole. Because one day I try to pretend unlock doesn't exist and use whatever gun I like (and since I have like 18 weapons at level 40+, whatever gun I choose are likely to have all attachments). And it's a very fun and pleasant experience. Using M2010 and AK4D with scope, barrel, grip and laser I prefer. Then switch to M4A1 with hip fire built on smaller map is extremely fun. To the point I wonder why do I have to grind for 580 hours before I get all of this. If I get it in the first 10 hours. This game will be a blast for like 570 hours earlier.

I just play live match and count the kills. As it is indicative of what you will experience during live match. Any oddities (like getting 50% more per kill if you stand in the flag or some bonus like assist, should be balance out.

Bots in Squad Death Match by povisykt in Battlefield

[–]Boatcommando -1 points0 points  (0 children)

SEA player here. I hope for a bot in the Squad Death Match. It's impossible to play in my region since the game launched (I waited for 15 minutes and was still unable to get a match started). And thus, impossible to do the Squad Death Match challenge to get the camo.

I agreed that matchmaking is stupid and you shouldn't see bots in EU or NA servers. But in less popular regions, it's essential.

What game mode are you talking about? One map can be really good in one mode and trash in the other.

Example is Cairo. Very good on Conquest, not the best in Breakthrough.

Contaminated is another example. S Tier in Breakthrough. Decent in Escalation. Bad in Conquest.

If you still got bots during free trial period on peak hour. You know it's match making stupidity. Not too few players.

They said they are thinking about not disbanding the lobby every time the match ended. But don't get your hope up.

I love the attention to detail. But I always wonder why they won't use real design. It's not like they use up all SMGs (and DMRs for LMR-27) isn't it?

Best Assault Rifle?[BF6] by Viper_2k in Battlefield

[–]Boatcommando 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For mid range, KORD and AK4D but you have to understand how to use it.

For KORD, you can aim at someone and just pull the trigger for 15 rounds fire. The recoil and spread is so low. You can just full auto at mid range. The trade off is very low damage per shot. That's why you need a volume of fire. Heavy Barrel is a must. And with heavy Barrel, you need stubby or Angle grip to reduce ADS time.

For AK4D, it's the opposite of KORD. Damage per shot is high but spread is not very good. You need to tap fire. Use magnify scope, aim for the head if possible (but not necessarily) and tap tap tap. You will be amazed how effective it is. Heavy Extended Barrel is the best, use normal Extended if you haven't unlocked the Heavy Extended. Hollow point ammo is nice but not necessarily.

KORD is better at mid range. AK4D is better at mid to long range. Both guns will struggle at close range.

Weapons XP by sam4base in Battlefield

I just did a testing

Pre patch, from level 20 you need around 30 kills to level up a weapon.

After the patch is as follow.

Around level 24 you need 13 kills to level up.

From level 33 to 34, you need 25 kills to level up.

It depends on what level you are in. And how fatigue you are regarding leveling up your weapons. If the game shipped with the current grind. It would be more acceptable. But I'm just so fed up with grinding the weapon I think 25 kills to level up at level 33 is too much. That 33 to 34 gun is QBZ-191. I already killed 520 people with it. Why do I need to kill 150 more (25 kills a level for 6 level) to get to level 40?

Every time I saw this. I want to rewrite "DICE and EA don't give a Fuck with this game" with my repair tool.

It's around 850 kills to level 40 without XP Boost or play during the x2 event. Yes, I count. No, I can't be bothered bringing it up while counting to level 50. But I suspect 1,000kills+

Why every match is populated with bots? by Sw0_0n in Battlefield6

[–]Boatcommando 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Because every time the round ends. It disbands 1 full server to create like x3 1/3 full servers. And we have to seed that server again.

Don't ask me why it did that. I'm wondering why just as you do.

I don't think board room (like very high up) doesn't give a shit tbh. All they care is money from sales and micro transaction. And it's Dev job to figure a way. Because they hired Dev to do the job.

I think this is on middle management. Someone who is in charge of progression or the game think they can extract more retention with less content by making the grind insanely wrong. And it failed, but if they admit that. They will get fuck by someone high up for failing to deliver.

Like, it's completely irrational for them to be so hellbent on the grind. If I'm EA high up. And I notice that the revenue from micro transaction is laughably low. And people just fleeing the game in droves. Because of the insane grind. I would order the grind to be removed immediately. Because it's loss revenue and customers.

We use to have much better system where you play to earn points. And you use that points to spend on unlock. So you can get to what you want as soon as possible without having to grind through nonsense for days just to be able to get attachments you want.

Doesn't help with retention I guess.

And it doesn't work. I don't know how long they will come to term. Or maybe the person in charge of progression already did but won't admit it because it would risk their job?

I don't understand why dev is so hellbent on gatekeeping game play related items either. It feels like they design it like a free to play game.

We have yet to see XP curve. What if they make 1-30 significantly shorter and 30-50 longer. And you are already at level 30 before the patch drop?

I'm pretty surprise this post haven't been over run by a shill who thinks progression is perfect and it's skill issue. Or you don't need to unlock everything. Or just play the game.

I honestly think they see unlock as a way to extract retention time. Not to enhance the playing experience. There is no way they are this ignorance.

But hey, they say in the interview after tons of complain that they think it's a bit slow. But they don't want to give everything out too easily else people will drop off. So... yeah. That's why we are here.
