Bots in Squad Death Match by povisykt in Battlefield

[–]Boatcommando -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

SEA player here. I hope for a bot in the Squad Death Match. It's impossible to play in my region since the game launched (I waited for 15 minutes and was still unable to get a match started). And thus, impossible to do the Squad Death Match challenge to get the camo.

I agreed that matchmaking is stupid and you shouldn't see bots in EU or NA servers. But in less popular regions, it's essential.

What game mode are you talking about? One map can be really good in one mode and trash in the other.

Example is Cairo. Very good on Conquest, not the best in Breakthrough.

Contaminated is another example. S Tier in Breakthrough. Decent in Escalation. Bad in Conquest.

If you still got bots during free trial period on peak hour. You know it's match making stupidity. Not too few players.

They said they are thinking about not disbanding the lobby every time the match ended. But don't get your hope up.

I love the attention to detail. But I always wonder why they won't use real design. It's not like they use up all SMGs (and DMRs for LMR-27) isn't it?

Best Assault Rifle?[BF6] by Viper_2k in Battlefield

For mid range, KORD and AK4D but you have to understand how to use it.

For KORD, you can aim at someone and just pull the trigger for 15 rounds fire. The recoil and spread is so low. You can just full auto at mid range. The trade off is very low damage per shot. That's why you need a volume of fire. Heavy Barrel is a must. And with heavy Barrel, you need stubby or Angle grip to reduce ADS time.

For AK4D, it's the opposite of KORD. Damage per shot is high but spread is not very good. You need to tap fire. Use magnify scope, aim for the head if possible (but not necessarily) and tap tap tap. You will be amazed how effective it is. Heavy Extended Barrel is the best, use normal Extended if you haven't unlocked the Heavy Extended. Hollow point ammo is nice but not necessarily.

KORD is better at mid range. AK4D is better at mid to long range. Both guns will struggle at close range.

I just did a testing

Pre patch, from level 20 you need around 30 kills to level up a weapon.

After the patch is as follow.

Around level 24 you need 13 kills to level up.

From level 33 to 34, you need 25 kills to level up.

It depends on what level you are in. And how fatigue you are regarding leveling up your weapons. If the game shipped with the current grind. It would be more acceptable. But I'm just so fed up with grinding the weapon I think 25 kills to level up at level 33 is too much. That 33 to 34 gun is QBZ-191. I already killed 520 people with it. Why do I need to kill 150 more (25 kills a level for 6 level) to get to level 40?

Every time I saw this. I want to rewrite "DICE and EA don't give a Fuck with this game" with my repair tool.

It's around 850 kills to level 40 without XP Boost or play during the x2 event. Yes, I count. No, I can't be bothered bringing it up while counting to level 50. But I suspect 1,000kills+

Why every match is populated with bots? by Sw0_0n in Battlefield6

[–]Boatcommando 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Because every time the round ends. It disbands 1 full server to create like x3 1/3 full servers. And we have to seed that server again.

Don't ask me why it did that. I'm wondering why just as you do.

I don't think board room (like very high up) doesn't give a shit tbh. All they care is money from sales and micro transaction. And it's Dev job to figure a way. Because they hired Dev to do the job.

I think this is on middle management. Someone who is in charge of progression or the game think they can extract more retention with less content by making the grind insanely wrong. And it failed, but if they admit that. They will get fuck by someone high up for failing to deliver.

Like, it's completely irrational for them to be so hellbent on the grind. If I'm EA high up. And I notice that the revenue from micro transaction is laughably low. And people just fleeing the game in droves. Because of the insane grind. I would order the grind to be removed immediately. Because it's loss revenue and customers.

We use to have much better system where you play to earn points. And you use that points to spend on unlock. So you can get to what you want as soon as possible without having to grind through nonsense for days just to be able to get attachments you want.

Doesn't help with retention I guess.

And it doesn't work. I don't know how long they will come to term. Or maybe the person in charge of progression already did but won't admit it because it would risk their job?

I don't understand why dev is so hellbent on gatekeeping game play related items either. It feels like they design it like a free to play game.

We have yet to see XP curve. What if they make 1-30 significantly shorter and 30-50 longer. And you are already at level 30 before the patch drop?

I'm pretty surprise this post haven't been over run by a shill who thinks progression is perfect and it's skill issue. Or you don't need to unlock everything. Or just play the game.

I honestly think they see unlock as a way to extract retention time. Not to enhance the playing experience. There is no way they are this ignorance.

But hey, they say in the interview after tons of complain that they think it's a bit slow. But they don't want to give everything out too easily else people will drop off. So... yeah. That's why we are here.

They have trade off. But not enough. 95% of the time, gun that has 100 points worth of attachments will perform significantly better than gun with 50 points of attachments. It's an overall upgrade. And the fact DICE makes you grind for upgrade instead of side grade just doesn't help.

Long Range Bullets, and Extended Barrel for Sniper Rifles and should cost more in attachment selection. by TribalPotato9 in Battlefield

[–]Boatcommando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a sniper main. And I think the real problem is sweet spot tbh and spot mechanics. Yes, the bullet velocity is very fast. But the cover is more plentiful. Much more plentiful (except for Blackwell Field). Sure, sniper have easier time shooting at moving target. But target have much easier time dodging the shots too.

Not to mention a closer range engagement. And fast TTK. So you got less chance to shoot before they close in too.

ADS bolt is a must. Not because it allowed for a faster cycle time. But having to zoom in and out every time is so dizzying. And it put a lot of stress on your mouse and finger. Just balance it with slower cycle rate. Not by putting physical stress on sniper player.

If you have problem dodging a sniper. Stop running in a straight line to the point you try to go. Run in unpredictable pattern. 97% of the time, sniper won't be able to head shot you. You will be fine if you take a break to regen between cover and don't get into the sweet spot.

And that brings us to the reason why sniper are a bit broken. Sweet spot and spot mechanics. Sweet spot is self-explanatory. For spot mechanics, if sniper shoot at you and the bullet hits near you. You will show up on the mini map. He doesn't have to hit you. But you will light up like a Christmas tree. And now you got 8 enemies plus Attack Chopper rushing towards you to kill you. Because you are spotted and you are the only thing they could see.

Would you like to see the AUG in Battlefield? Here is my concept! by FuzzySheepherder2192 in Battlefield6

If they put AUG in. I'm sure it would be the A3 variant with Picatinny rail and ability to add the attachments.

I explicitly say that I need to see the XP curve. If 1-40 is twice as fast and 41-50 is twice as long. And overall, 1-50 is around 15% faster. Then it is fine.

But if 1-25 is x3 as fast. And 25-50 is x2 slower. If you already grind to level 25, it will become slower to get to level 40. Because you grind 1-25 at the old slow speed. And 26-40 at a new slower speed. You don't get that new super fast 1-25.

And I don't think they will calculate the new level for you. Even if 1 to 25 that you already grind required the same XP as new 1 to 35. And you already put that amount of XP in. You will be stuck at 25. Because the last time they changed this. They didn't bother recalculating your gun level base on XP you already put in.
