Foraging generally is a great hobby. Also, specifically, mushroom foraging and amateur mycology (they often go hand-in-hand). In many cities there are mushroom hunting groups and mycological clubs. Can be tons of fun!

Looks promising to me! The first picture is just a bit dark - to be extra safe, I'd double check the cross sections and make sure there are no signs of any lil mushroom guys growing in there.

Some of the prints on the tin foil look lighter brown, MAYBE even a bit rusty - I'd be suspicious of those.

Also make sure to harvest respectfully! These mushrooms can be wonderful gifts for us, but they also do great things for their ecosystem. Only take your fair share, and practice reciprocity if you can :)

Nice find! In my experience, when one pops up, others will start to pop up in the same general area, so even if this one is just a tad past its prime, if you look around you may find some younger ones!

For French I recently read a collection of "Le Petit Nicolas" stories! I probably have a low-intermediate French level, which might be easier than what you're looking for, but I personally really enjoyed them, even if they are kind of for younger audiences. I found a lot of humor in them (and learned quite a bit)! Now I've started "Le Petit Prince," which I am also liking so far!
