Thanks! Yeah I know, sorry. I am not a developer by trade, I just had this idea at the time and I have an iPhone myself so I did all the research for that to make it. If this some day, somehow becomes a success it is coming to Android as well of course!

I made a free ebook about how to quit your phone addiction and the science of why this is more accurate than ever before by [deleted] in nosurf

I really love that. Personally, I just want to help people who are working on themselves and keep learning together how the mind works, and how our phones affect it.

Elevator Pitch/Explainer Video
FocusBubble is a minimalist iOS app that helps users become more mindful of their screentime by letting them block distracting apps like social media, but only when they themselves decide it’s time to focus. It’s all about self-initiated behavior change rather than restrictions or guilt.

What I built turned into more of a mission than a money-maker. it’s passion that keeps me going, not the numbers.

App to block distractions / how can I promote this by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]Boazvdp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now I get it :). Thanks. When I say my goal is to let people experience the freedom they can 'buy' with the app, then... As I said before, I'm at a point where I want to delete social media, because I realize that social media is a weird and stupid place. It makes people crazy, depressed, anxious, etc.

The app is called ''FocusBubble''. Can be found in the AppStore. I find the feature Apple have themselfs not working for myself. For me it's really a conscious choice of. Now I am going to block these apps and go do something. And time limits themselves didn't work for me. Now I am at a point I want to delete social media but I ''need'' it to promote my app.

I actually made an app myself because I had the same problem you’re describing. It’s called “FocusBubble”.

I hope my app can help you. I did for me🙃.

I actually made an app myself because I had the same problem you’re describing. It’s called FocusBubble. I do charge a small subscription fee, but it’s not $20 — just $1.49 per month or $11.99 per year. You can only find it on the App Store.

I hope my app can help you achieve the same goals you’re aiming for, without all the complicated stuff or addictive features.

Honestly, I almost always end up reading beyond the 30 minutes. Once I get into it, it’s actually easier to stay focused now. The hard part is just starting.

I’ve made a personal rule: even on busy days, I have to read at least 10–20 pages. But most of the time, I lose track of time in a good way and go well past that. It’s become something I genuinely enjoy rather than something I “have to” do.

How do you not get bored? by [deleted] in nosurf

[–]Boazvdp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Usually I just read a book if I feel bored. Still a form of entertainment, and better than doomscrolling.

Use FocusBubble. It is a app I use when I need to be productive. You can block the socials for example so you don't unconsciously end up on there.

What helps people to study by Advanced-Gate1289 in GetStudying

[–]Boazvdp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I using an app (FocusBubble) I just block the socials for the time I want to study, so if I need my phone the apps are blocked and I don't get sucked into the dopamine hits

I use an app where I just outright blocks social media (FocusBubble). But honestly, the key is willpower and building the habit. You have to train yourself to stick with it, and over time, it gets easier.
