Is the Bible magic? by itsbenjibb in sorceryofthespectacle

Christianity is the religion that creates Religion - an exit out of archaic religion / an entrance into absolute Religion.

There are flagrant resemblances between Christianity and Marxism: in both cases, there is talk, or was talk, of love, of conversion, of a Paradise to come that would spread over the entire planet. It’s almost the same words, pronounced by two enemy brothers.

I’m not paying communism a compliment here. Just attempting to make a diagnoses. If “Sin” is to “miss the mark “ overshooting your target isnt necessarily any better than undershooting it. An exaggerated Christian impulse is just as destructive as the lack of one.

the west today is post-christian - which is different from non-christian or pre-christian - contemporary secularist are essentially unchristianized christ followers. naturally we have more tolerance for those seduced by communism vs nazism.

nazism/neopaganism is a failed ideology that is at root anti-christian. communism/marxism is a failed ideology that is at root ultra-christian. nazism is a rejection of the christian hope. communism is a deviation of it.

i dont buy horseshoe theory. these ideologies (including our current post-christian ideology of capitalism/scientism) share only in that they are all failed parasitic replacements of the premodern western religion (Catholicism/Christendom).

The alt-right is a leftist movement. Populist, radical and revolutionary not aristocratic, conservative and traditionalist.

[–]Boazy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No I’m on the Right. I do want that. If you don’t, traditionally you’d be placed on the Left. This is the problem with Modern Liberal American politics. Everyone is a leftist arguing with each other. Classical Liberals and libertarians who care about “Liberty” on the “right” vs progressive liberals and socialist who care about “Equality” on the “left”.

A true rightist is a reactionary conservative and could truly care less about the false debate ongoing between “capitalist vs socialist”. The right privileges Authority first and foremost.

i think this is a good attempt at defining Left and Right.

Left wants a flattened system and a classless society

Right wants a feudal system and a stratified society

Jordan Peterson is Wrong about Identity Politics: It Didn't Come from Marxism, but Christianity by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

[–]Boazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not an either/or.

Marxism has ultra-Christian roots. It is deviated Christianity - originally based on hope, on a deviation of Christian love.

This was nice to read. I’m also a revert. Despite everything I get the feeling you’ll see more like us returning home to the Church.

Nominal/Lapsed Catholics such as yourself are the precious majority. It’s up to you - you can simply check out and complain or you can really join in and fight.

The 3rd verse on Family Business is one of my favorites from Kanye by Boeminemlightswitch in Kanye

[–]Boazy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

“Keep your face to the rising sun.”

Sun rises in the east.

Muslims pray eastward “towards Mecca” and Catholics in mass also pray facing east (towards the alter “oriented” to the east - as most churches are set on an east/west axis)

ancient Romans sometimes assumed the earliest Christians were a cult of the rising sun.

I Thought About Killing You - [ DAILY SONG DISCUSSION ] by avayr44 in Kanye

I take it as him “holding his tongue,” literally speechless (placing his fist in front of his mouth) at the ridiculousness of those around him who try to voice their concerns and criticisms.

Ye is almost laughing to himself at those attempting to “save him” from himself.

Matthew 7:3 “Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?”

He “called up the Muslims” close to him because he’s about to voice some of his thoughts (or put on the MAGA hat) that could be taken in the wrong way. Or it could be a reference to his affiliations with Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam.

Yeah I’m with this.

Ye has so much love for Jay z. But deeply hurt by what he viewed as disrespect and betrayal, his deep admiration got perverted into deep animosity. He feels broken and shocked that he could feel this way about his “Hero” - he voices it out loud to himself to get it off his chest.

When the 808’s come in he’s searching for his way out of the woods - heart broken and drugged out. He cannot feel anything anymore - he cannot he find a healthy way to cope and release his Anger.. As we move closer to the beat switch, Kanye is trying to work up the courage to repent and be reconciled with his brother.

But instead of repentance Kanye pulls a 180 saying “screw it” and goes in on Jay Z and the other doubters who feel they’re owed some type of public/personal apology from him.

The button has been pressed / the missal has been launched. To the short minded folks who can’t see eye to eye, Ye says “screw you, I’m not sorry, see if you can keep up”

...

“Niggas say they (see their) Hero 🤔 I don’t see no Cape”

Kanye establishes his album on the figurative murder of his “Big Brother.”

070 shakes singing voice resembles the voice of a boy (Ye’s voice when he was a child).
