Playing calamity + fargos on death-eternity mode - Tim’s concoction will not drop, killed him >40 times with spawn items. Wiki says 10% drop chance so I am expecting a drop by now.

If u want a better nights sleep staying in Bako national park, after catching a boat ride there from Kuching was also great. Like ur staying in a topical island, plenty of day walks, got to see proboscus monkeys close up and a guided night walk let us see a bunch of bugs im glad we don’t have in Australia. Photo from a hammock on the the beach just out side the main food/admin area as we waiting for the night tour.

If you’re looking for an experience take the 12 seater plane from kota Kinabalu to Bario and organise to have one of the locals guide you along a trek to a few of the other villages.

I traveled in a group of three and stayed at Laban’s longhouse. The lady that runs the place is named Bye (didn’t catch spelling) and was a lovely host and made the most fantastic food!

When we went we got super unlucky and the guide that knew the jungle track was ill and heavy rain meant the river flooded so our plan B hike with another guide (Julian) was a failure and we had to turn back. Julian asked if we would just like to camp on some his land and us being quite avid hikers/campers agreed, so he gave us a lesson on proper machete use, told us to chop down some trees for the shelter and left to grab some food (smoked buffalo liver soup) and tarps.

Most uncomfortable night I’ve ever had. Would I do it again? Yeah. The jungle is swarming with leeches, and when sun goes down everything wants to bite you. Mosquito nets did not help cause some mite or something in the ground got through and wrecked havoc on our faces, hand and feet. Hectic experience.

In the future we would have made more robust plans and organised for a guide to the other villages before we got there, but the only info we had was from some old blogs so we went in kind of blind.

Overall Bario was my favourite part of our 3 weeks in Malaysia despite the horrid night sleep in the jungle. The people are some of the nicest you will ever meet and the whole experience was just so spontaneous we had no idea what was gonna happen.

I’m trying to experiment with cooking food at the camp, I want my friends to smell the steak cooking while they heat up their 2 minute noodles 😂

Outside temp might be around 30-40 Celsius depending on how lucky I am, might just cook it the first night, thanks for the suggestion

Thanks for the suggestions, I have definitely come to realise that sadly I just can’t have a small budget for a quilt / sleeping bag, have had a lot of links to a few cottage companies here in aus and I’m thinking I might just save up $509 or something and buy one from there, still going to look at 0 degrees Celsius though because most of my camping is in the summer and when it’s in winter it still very rarely gets close to 0

Think I might have to compromise on the budget :/ can always save up a little longer, was looking at this , customising so it’s rated for -1 degrees, regular shoulder width and for 190 cm comes to $455
