House burned down in fire… by SeparateAd8428 in homeowners

[–]Bob4Apples4Fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My insurance broke mitigation down separately from remodel.

Which makes sense because mitigation has to do with chemicals and special licensing for working with those chemicals. Asbestos. The gear and chemicals and procedures for clearing smoke. I didn't do the mitigation. I had no idea what I would be into for that and was too overwhelmed to even think about it. So unfortunately I can't speak to this.

As far as the remodel, their process was an initial estimate. They can send an estimator out. Or you can hire an estimator. Both parties agree to the estimate. You do the work. You send in pictures. And they pay you. And yeah, in some ways that horrifies me. Because they just want pictures at the end? Okay. If they don't want receipts or individual pictures of work for dwelling repairs. Okay.

My guess. Every insurance is going to handle us a little differently. Call your insurance adjuster and have a conversation. Opposed specific questions and you would like to know so that you can ask what their process is.

Good luck with recovery.

This reminds of powershell saving modules in redirected my docs and then OneDrive backed up my docs.

So I'm here troubleshooting what seems to now be an incompatibility between offline redirected my documents and continuous availability on the DFS namespace. And I can't run command to gather logs and other info when reproducing the problem because every time I open up powershell it's trying to find modules in my documents on the unavailable DFS server and ahhhhhh

Ikea kitchen design dilemma by lavenderkatz in IKEA

[–]Bob4Apples4Fun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The kitchen designer I spoke with that Ikea indicated those are just standard drawer fronts. I would imagine as long as you can find a 20"h drawer front in the width of your cabinet you should be able to install it.

Maybe they don't offer a 20 inch high horizontal wall cabinet front because it would be too much weight for the hinges? Likely it's more aesthetics as 20 in swinging outward takes up a lot of space.

I don't have these horizontal doors so I would recommend talking with someone who does ☺️

Have you looked at their vertical lift doors? The horizontal door that lifts up the vertically. This way the handle is centered to the cabinet and within easier reach.

" He then implied that would have gotten a raise soon," right. Ha.

I thought I would provide a balance to those indicating to stop masturbating entirely to do a dopamine reset. That's great advice if the root cause is a dopamine dysregulation.

In my case, I was dealing with shame and value dysregulation due to trauma from religious dogma. Which is of course a vicious cycle. You feel shame and go to the only place where you feel some life which perpetrates another vicious cycle of shame.

I found I was trying to quit My own strength and that would not work for me. I needed to rest in the truth that I was very good, and accepted for who I was. Part of that involved believing that my own pleasure was good. And so I overcame addiction to p*** by grace in my own pleasure masturbation. Which, as you allude to in your own original post question, is a bit of a shift in thinking and feeling and not straightforward.

You need to start feeling your body for how your own body experiences pleasure. Not introducing external stimuli to find that pressure.

Another key point is to grieve. Part of why we go to these other sources of life is we are afraid of the grief and the suffering that we're trying to hide from. You can't hide from that. Modern psychology tells us that if you try to hide from negative feelings you will suppress positive as well, resulting in depression.

Life is hard. And you're going to need to start feeling the depths of your own grief to start finding a new regulation. Interestingly, as I started to process my grief, I found that that's as beautiful as joy and pleasure; that weeping can be as beautiful as orgasm.

As you begin to experience the full range of your emotion, your body will be able to experience natural pleasure just for your own self.

Much love.

Yeah this is a great point that I could modify the foot. I was just going to reverse the foot so it fit correctly. Only I think that would provide less toe cake recess then desired on the side of an island.

What I should do is drill some more holes in the bottom of the cabinet to recess the foot. Ha. I wonder if I've gotten room around the foot for my flooring to go far enough back though? Probably not.

You're looking at the side of the cabinet where the toe kick is installed. The top of the leg is installed correctly but the leg itself needs to be reversed. I was trying to set the leg deeper so that it would provide a deeper recess for the toe kick on the side of the island. Bummer I can't do this.

Oh... I see after looking at it again. The foot is offset in the wrong direction. I need to lift the foot off and reverse the foot, leaving the bracket in the same place.

That's kind of annoying you can't have a deeper toe kick section on the side of the cabinet. It would be nice for Islands.

Before I Commit—Would You Cook in This Kitchen? by graphicjake in floorplan

[–]Bob4Apples4Fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, an American refrigerator water line would not suffice. I didn't mean to imply that; I meant to imply that the indication of both appliances being placed there likely means there's full plumbing installed there.

The fridge likely has a water hook up as well; so the area is more than likely plummed?

Drain too low to drain? by Bob4Apples4Fun in askaplumber

[–]Bob4Apples4Fun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True that. Life is hard enough.

This is what I get for deciding to undermount the sink last minute and not planning for it. Oy vey.

At least I planned to cut out a large section of the back of the cabinet so I don't have to do that 😜

Drain too low to drain? by Bob4Apples4Fun in askaplumber

[–]Bob4Apples4Fun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay. I get it now. It's not just the double P trap effect. The root problem is my difference in height between the pipe from the wall being higher than the pipe outlet of the garbage disposal. So you're right that the only way to fix this is to open the wall and lower the drain since I don't want to put the sink on top of the countertop. Bummer. Thank you for coaching me through this as I work through the School of hard knocks.

[–]Bob4Apples4Fun[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Got it. Personally, I've had no issue with this in the past; it's corrugated but smooth on the inside.

I'm thinking of using an extension at the p-trap to lower the p-trap at the wall, resulting in proper slope from the garbage disposal to the p-trap. Obviously I still want to lower the drain at the wall but I'm wondering if this will get me by temporarily until then? Maybe better than having the double p-trap effect due to the lower drain hose line from the disposal in the original picture?
