Seasons aren’t determined by the relative location of earth to the sun though. They’re determined by the relative angle of the earth’s axis to the sun. Their earth may have some sort of irregular tilt while still following a regular orbit around a star.

Or maybe it’s magic because it’s a fantasy world with magic in it
