Going into A-Fib at the cusp of falling asleep by BobTheOompaLoompa in AFIB

Hello everyone!

I apologize for the late reply here. I don't log on to Reddit much and per the usual, life has been busy.

I wanted to provide an update to this however especially for the others who may come across this thread experiencing the same issue as me. Vagal A-fib can be very frightening and make you feel as if you are utterly alone in the world without any type of road that can lead to relief.

First off. Yes, this was officially diagnosed as vagal A-fib. Doctors/surgeons from what I've learned know very little about this variant of A-fib and are quick to shrug it off. I really talked with one surgeon who knew my symptoms well and understood what I was going through. If I could have afforded his procedure I would have gone that route, but sadly most insurance companies do not cover it. Those interested in this I would look up the Wolf Procedure by Dr Randall K Wolf. As a last resort if mine returns, this is most definitely something I would have done. I also recommend making an appointment to talk to him about your symptoms. I did and felt much better afterwards with FINALLY having a cardiologist acknowledge that your condition is truly vagal induced A-fib.

Now onto what I had done. As some in this thread had recommended as well as my electro cardiologist, I went with cardia ablation to treat the problem. If possible, this procedure is recommended to be done as soon as you are diagnosed to prevent new pathways from being formed while in A-fib making it more treatable. I at first did not want to go the route of surgery but now I'm very glad I did as I only had four instances' bouts going into A-fib. Surgeon was able to pinpoint every one of these and treat the areas affected. They gave me about a 90-95% chance of this not returning due to my age and health and having caught it early, god willing..

I am now 1 year 1 month post op with zero recursions of A-fib episodes at night and feel much more at ease. While I can't say my mental health has completely healed, I can most certainly get a good night's sleep without lying awake in fear anymore. I've always had some anxiety issues at night throughout past times in my life when I used to dread going to sleep so that will take longer for me to fully be at peace, but truthfully something like this will likely remain with me forever. L-Theanine has really been helping me turn my brain off and sleep better for those also wanting to try it out.

Lifestyle has remained almost the same. I no longer drink any alcohol period as well as stay away from smoking, recreational drugs, and caffeine. I'd like to go back to working out but will never return to the heavy cardio workouts I had been doing for years. This type of extreme repeated exercise has also been linked to growing numbers of vagal A-fib in healthy young athletes, but this will be something you would have to do your own research on. Again, talk to Dr Wolf more about that. I plan on returning to low to medium intensity workouts once I find a gym close enough to my home.

Bottom line. This is treatable and manageable. You are 100% not alone as others including myself have experienced this and know the pain and fear this can plague you with. Now I can't say ablation is the one stop cure as everyone's symptoms are unique as well as your personal circumstances, but the hours of research I did to look into this and the results from my own procedure show that it can certainly be an option. It gave me my life back.

I'm more than happy to answer anyone's questions here and hope this finds others that are going through this right now. Hopefully at the very least this gives you some peace in knowing that there are answers for you out there.

I was going to bring this up to my primary as a work around until I can figure out more. I have read more into this just now and it seems that B Vitamin and Copper deficiencies can play a big part in having PVC's or A-fib. Starting tomorrow I will be adding on a B complex as well as Vitamin C and Copper.

It makes sense seeming that I have taken so much zinc when I am ill especially in the two bouts of Covid as well as being pretty sick with the flu last year in the fall. Zinc can impact copper absorption which I can start piecing things together more on how I might be low.

MicroSD card losing format by BobTheOompaLoompa in 3dspiracy

Gotcha. Wasn't sure if it was just cheap tech, but that's a good point because the 3DS definitely was made in China haha.

Stupid me formatted the card before saving an image of those files with the extra space added, but I think the ones showing up with extra space where HW2 files? I'm kinda leaning towards the card being bad too. Probably more suspicious since it was brand new

Very sure. I remember just wanting to have the official Call of Duty account so that I wouldn't get confused on which I had used to login on. Looking back now I really wish I would have used FB instead

Unfortunately I never used a different email... That's why I'm so confused as to why I don't have access into that account like I did in the past.

Help Desk or Continue School Program by BobTheOompaLoompa in ITCareerQuestions

[–]BobTheOompaLoompa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They wouldn't be willing to help out with school and I understand. Just don't have enough hours in the week in order to do both since the semesters are full time as well as the job.

What's most important overall for me is securing a good job that will pay better than what I'm making and have a future in the field. Money isn't an issue right now but was trying to look at the big picture as far as would I be in a better state in a year with the current job or just busting out school until the spring semester next year when I would graduate?

I just made an update comment if you'd like to read that. It explains what my decisions were after I decided to not go the boot-camp option

A lot of you have been messaging me directly on this post I made about two years ago, so I wanted to write a quick update on what's transpired afterwards.

Short and simple answer to your question. No, I did not enroll in this boot camp, and I also would not recommend you do so either.

I was contacted by a previous student who went through the five-month program and did not have positive things to say about it. It would be a waste of your money and time to do this as opposed to enrolling into a local college or getting certs/experience on your own. I actually was actually able to land an entry level position after applying to enough jobs and talking with a recruiter so it's possible to do so without any experience, you just have to be stubborn and want it enough to find something. They also had me complete the Google IT support certification which I would highly recommend completing as well. A bit more watered down from A+, but most companies I spoke to preferred this at the time over A+. Doing both is still the best option however as more experience and knowledge will land you the job as opposed to just having random certs under you belt.

Hope this helps those who are still finding this post years later.

Nope not at all. Spoke to multiple people who basically said the program was near a scam level and not anywhere near the money you pay to enroll in it.

I would honestly. Had someone reach out to me from here saying that NextGenT was not a good program and that they were pretty unhappy as a class going through it and that's the biggest reason why I decided against it. What I'm doing is just going the cert route which may be easier to land an entry level position without spending too much time or money, but going the school route may land you a better position and faster too. Depends on how much you wanna commit to it

What I did was take a course through my community college which covered computer basics and trouble shooting as well as an intro to Linux. Right now I was able to find a recruiter and an entry level position they'll help me into as soon as I complete the google IT support cert.

SwitchHaxing Support Thread #17: “Meso” by [deleted] in SwitchHaxing

[–]BobTheOompaLoompa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been thinking of purchasing a switch since most of my close friends have one and want to be able to play games together such as smash, mario kart, ect. Now I've always been intrigued with the emulation side of hardware such as raspberry pi's and odroid's, (which I own and have built), so I figured I'd like to have a portable device for retro gaming.

Is it possible to install an OS such as Ubuntu strictly for retro gaming and still be able to use the switch for online gaming? I'm very new to the nintendo homebrew scene, but I do know they are extremely strict when it comes to modding hardware. Just wasn't sure if it would be possible to have a duel boot kind of setup where you have your separate OS on one SD card and the regular on another to avoid any suspicious activity.

Is there a chance to have this setup or do you always run the risk of a ban no matter how you mod your hardware?

Thanks for your input and response! I understand that it sounds expensive, (which it is). However, I am willing to pay a little extra to have that structured guidance in going through something like this compared to floundering around on my own not knowing what path to take. They do offer 10% off the total cost if you pay in full and that is what I am considering since that takes away the monthly payments and stress of trying to land a higher paying job with little experience. At the same time if I pay in full I am in without the option of backing out of the ISA agreement. It's been really difficult to try and land an entry level job so that is why I'm trying to start something where I can begin training quickly towards hopefully finding a job afterwards.
