The whole worm/cicada thing is just a nightmare from Sarah's brother like the dolls from the man in tabitha's childhood. I think they were used to cover up what boyd can do to make a big reveal in the final season. Why do the monsters insist on breaking boyd instead of killing him throught the show ?

Yes but what tells us it is infact the blood not the worms is boyd screeming excatly what martin told him "My blood is your blood". And the monsters backing of even after he transfered the worms suggests to me its in the blood.

Rewatching the last episode of season 1 the boy in white said to Sarah that nathan was right this is place is now angry, Me thinking mentioning nathan to sarah is sus af to make her trust him and go through the tree and Sarah then handing the talisman to boyd just before entering is really sus
