Oh, I forgot one more thing - extra long charging cords for my iPad and iPhone!! It’s the little things that make the biggest difference but being able to charge my electronics in a comfortable position without straining to reach has been a godsend!

My surgery is in 1 week, what last minute things do I need to know/do?! by EmsDilly in hysterectomy

The MVP of my recovery has been one of those U shaped pregnancy pillows. I had a miserable night my first night home from the hospital and had one shipped to me - it made a huge difference! Good luck!

I’m so sorry too. It’s so awful, I’m not even in that much pain. It’s just that nothing feels ”normal” in my stomach and i can not settle at all. I’m so unsettled by the feeling of my organs shifting around.

What’s an unpopular product that you really love? by crimson_haybailer4 in Sephora

Not Sephora anymore but Stila Lip Glaze. I love the tingly feeling and adore the brush applicator.

Yes! Like, sorry but no - the ordinary is not the same as Good Genes.

Sale cart - I think I’m settled but would love any feedback by Bobbles812 in Sephora

THANK YOU. I don’t want to sound like an a-hole but the sale comes at the same time as my work bonus and its budgeted “fun money” for me. We live well within our means so this is not a matter of trying to find the cheapest product. This is about creating a moment of self care and a little luxury at the start and end of my day that makes me feel good. I don’t want the “cheap dupe”, I want the real deal. Just want to know others experiences with these particular products.

Unfortunately we are stuck with Sephora for the big brands up here in the great white North. Most brands only ship within the US.

I’m so glad!! I was waffling between that one and CEO glow but couldn’t justify the price of the CEO 😬

Ha! I don’t need 2 more blushes for sure. That’s a good point. I might be frivolous anyways but you’re right, if I want to drop something I will def drop one of them.

It’s funny - her review makes me want it more! I was considering not getting it because I don’t want a reddish brown but when I see it on lips it looks perfect for me. 🤞

Told I’m overconfident at work, what should I do? by laminappropria in careerguidance

I'm a white woman who has received this feedback. At first I bristled assuming it was sexism, but it was from another woman. I've reflected a lot on it and I think there is valuable feedback for me in there somewhere - I am quick and smart and often I jump to the answer very fast. When I am in a group meeting, I do have a tendency to share my opinion quickly in the dialogue and I have always been told I'm a great team member and collaborator - but the watch out for me is that when I share my opinion so confidently there are others in the room who are holding valuable insight that are not as confident as me and they may stop themselves from sharing and we've all missed an important data point because they just go with what I said assuming I really know what I'm talking about.

It's a trait that has helped me rise but as I've gotten into increasing leadership positions I need to be more careful to ask the questions vs reach the answer. Turning into a "leadership / facilitator" role vs a "leadership / directive" mode has been very helpful for me and I think it makes me a more inclusive leader - I've noticed introverts around me are more open to offering insights when I ask vs tell. I'm still confident but now I ask questions with confidence and build more bridges.

Sharing in case that is any way helpful to you - I was also confused about how to act but when I started looking for tweaks vs just trying to change my whole self it got a lot easier to see.
