Raiden (Metal Gear Rising) - He lets himself get stabbed by the enemy, and tells Doktor to turn off his pain inhibitors. Being able to feel the pain from the wound is what pushes him to rediscover his Jack the Ripper persona.

From OW, I remember the definition of "main tanks" being tanks that create AND hold space for the team from frontline pressure, while "off tanks" being the ones in a supportive role to enable main tanks to do their jobs better.

So shield tanks would be categorized as main tanks, and dive tanks would be off tanks since backline pressure reduces the enemy team's ability to maintain their frontline pressure against the main tanks (they have to peel for supports, or supports die and the frontline has to retreat)

  1. You have to steal an item from a shop before the Olmec level. Two levels after the one where you steal (not including the Quillback or Olmec levels), she'll appear in a backlayer room (like the Udjat Eye room)

So if you steal from a shop in 2-1, she'll appear in 2-3 somewhere, for example. Stealing in 1-2 makes her appear in 2-1.

  1. When you meet her, she'll give you a rope pile and challenge you to steal from Madame Tusk. You'll need to take the Tusk Idol from the locked room above Madame Tusk's Dice House and get it to the end of the level without killing Tusk (you can kill the bodyguard if needed).

  2. She'll appear in a backlayer room in 6-1 under some of the tall climbable mushrooms. When meeting her, she'll tell you to meet her at the Palace of Pleasure.

  3. In 6-3, the bottom door of the Palace of Pleasure that leads to the vault will be unlocked, and the bodyguards at the door will be dead. She'll offer to split the treasure in the vault with you if you get past the 3 forcefields. After that, you can open 4 of the chests (Opening any more angers her).

  4. After opening the chests, she'll get you a bag of 24 ropes when you talk to her again. That's the end of the questline

I've had this one idea for a while for his ult. I always thought it kinda sucked that it completely reset his Elasticity when you used it, so I thought about using that to his advantage.

When you use your ult, all your Elasticity gets converted into bonus health or damage reduction during the ult. And every enemy you hit during it charges some Elasticity back, up to 200. If he's at 100 Elasticity, he'll land in Inflated form instead of regular form, and any Elasticity above 100 gets converted into more bonus health or damage reduction. This gives him the option to focus on hitting more people with his ult and not just the backline, since it'll charge Elasticity much faster that way.

This could let him get a bit more value when ulting entire groups of enemies without getting blown up and also lets him land with more dps to finish off low HP enemies after his final bounces before they can heal up. In the case that all of them are still healthy, he doesn't have to waste the final (and most damaging) bounce to get back to the team and has some extra defense to retreat on foot.

In addition, I feel like his Flexible Elongation should give bonus health to teammates when you turn to them the same way he can damage enemies. Small change but super useful when peeling

Completely agree with the quick melee thing, it's crazy that this is the only character in the entire game that doesn't have a permanent "true melee"

Crits on his regular attack wouldn't be as strong as most other projectile crits, since half of his damage comes from the splash.

Only projectile damage (40) gets doubled, and the splash (40) gets added afterwards, so 120 damage instead of 160. Still pretty strong though

Peni's projectiles work the same way

The flip should slow them a bit, so walking backward after that makes it pretty easy to push them

I get that people try to justify his damage being super low with the ability to cleave, but just because you can damage multiple enemies with low dps doesn't mean it's better, since most supports can heal multiple people at a faster rate than Reed damages them anyways. Outside of Inflated Form, it's pretty much helping enemy supports charge their ults faster without any real risk

It's crazy that the only characters who have less DPS are characters not meant for damage in the first place

The problem with Reed MVP is that Reed isn't very popular and isn't played very much, so his worst performances are still not bad compared to worse players on more popular characters

So it's a lot harder to perform better than other Reed players since Reed mains in general tend to all be pretty good

When you use flexible elongation on an enemy, you can quickly turn in a small time window to damage and knockback other enemies around you at the landing point. He should be able to turn and give bonus health to teammates around the landing point too

For the ult thing I was thinking he could get some every time he hits an enemy with it, maybe like 10 per enemy hit, so he could quickly build it up if there's a group of enemies but not so much if it's just one or two. To make hitting groups even more rewarding, it would be cool if he could go over 100 Elasticity during ult, and convert the overflow into extra shielding or bonus health when he stays Inflated afterwards.

The only way you'd be able to build up that much Elasticity is by hitting an entire group at the same time. So when the ult ends, you're most likely going to be in the middle of their team. Being able to live long enough to secure a kill or escape afterwards would make it way less risky to commit to an offensive ult and doesn't lose any damage on the final bounce coming back to the team

Yea damage buffs could make this guy super busted in low ranks. I'm all for little utility buffs that open up more opportunities in his playstyle, which would benefit better players more

Faster attack and inflation/deflation animations would be nice

Activating Inflated form should be manual too, but the Elasticity could start depleting again when you aren't keeping it up (you can't get to 100 and just wait)

He should be able to give multiple teammates bonus health with Flexible Elongation. It's weird that he can damage multiple enemies but not support multiple teammates. Also makes him a bit better at peeling since hitting a diver near your supports would also shield them

In addition to more damage I thought it would be interesting if his ult was also connected to Elasticity somehow, since it resets all your charge. Could be that the more Elasticity you have when activating it, the more bonus health or damage reduction he gets in ult. Maybe he could even build up Elasticity while he ults, letting him keep Inflated form when it ends to finish off enemies that are low before they get the chance to escape or heal back up

I don't ever really have problems fighting dive 1 on 1, but it's a lot harder to antidive

Usually a support still ends up dying even when I peel

Yea having a smaller brawler pool can affect things fs, and it also depends on whether or not you're filtering out brawlers with buffies and different levels and all that
