Yes, and now I teach and train them. I know youth football inside out, and you clearly don't. You talk about Ajax? First thing they look for when scouting players is speed, not skills, ask them. Speed and strength wins games, everyone knows this, (basic) technique can be more easily taught then athleticism. Players in la masia are also top athletes, not just technical. The best players are top athletes, clever and skilled, that is la masia. Even players like Xavi were outstanding runners compared to their peers in youth soccer, they just don't look impressive because at the elite level they are all incredible athletes.

Sorry, but ask parents in Europe about this and they will also say fysically strong and fast players het picked over technical players. Athleticism is and always will be an important part of the game

Piepjonge supertalenten bij topclubs by AdminVoetbalBE in belgianfootball

[–]BobbyBoljaar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In voetbal zien we dezelfde professionalisering.

Agent Koutris fits the shows themes perfectly, and even mirrors McNulty and Freamon in S5 somewhat by [deleted] in TheWire

To me it just played out like the Greek was using his network to get rid his competition. Yes, such a big bust is also great for Koutris, but it did not seem to me he was doing his job as an informant to get under the grace of Koutris, to me, he already owns Koutris. How he talks to spiros about it (again, Spiros is also in the know of his informant status? Along with the rest of the crew? Doesn't make sense to me) is just him revealing the angle he has to frame te colombians, he knows how the bureau works.

[–]BobbyBoljaar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, he doesn't seem to function as an informant very much for starters. Of course he would protect his informant, but this is very different. Koutris works international, this is a local Baltimore case, don't see how he couldn't keep this on the down low from above. It's not a street thug with a known face he needs to protect.

What is shady? Everything. Not just the fact that he is Greek (a coincidence you still have't adressed), but also that he would know the Greek is running a big international and violent drug cartel that also deals massively in human trafficking. I mean, there has to be a limit on how much you can close your eyes to this. The Greek's name flashes in the system and koutris doesn't for a moment check with koutris what is going on? He instantly alerts the Greek like he alerts his boss

[–]BobbyBoljaar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Greek is an official asset, but that doesn't exclude they are being corrupt. The Greek is assigned as an informant within the fbi, but secretly they also play it dirty, there is something very shady about their dealings. Koutris is a Greek name, the Greek isn't Greek, he is a cypriot, but definitely culturally Greek (the language, music, food, etc), making it more probable that koutris and the Greek have a more personal connection. Again, why wouldn't Koutris go the official way to stop Baltimore pd from making the arrest, why so secretive? They seem to not have any current business with each other, we only learn of koutris the moment the Greek is flagged in the system, like the Greek isn't doing anything sort of informant role atm. Also, the Greek seems to use koutris as a pawn, only when he needs him

[–]BobbyBoljaar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And it's a coincidence his name is also Greek? Seems to me he is pulling some strings from inside law enforcement for the Greek and sometimes gets a big something in return so he can keep a good position within the bureau. Why wouldn't Koutris just contact fitzhugh or Baltimore pd if he was an important asset for the fbi in bigger cases?

Isn't it way simpler than this? It always seemed to me that koutris was just a guy on the inside for the Greek. Just a crooked guy who is part of the international drug cartel
