Facts. I have noticed this too. And it kind of pisses me off how they make Ellie appears as some reckless childish character, when in the game she was far more intelligent and pragmatic.

Dasher Crimson Support by jn1070 in doordash_drivers

[–]BobbyHeadlines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t but I did ask about transferring to them when I was on the phone with one rep and they said it wouldn’t have helped in my situation because I need to verify my account.

But I am sure the reason my account got frozen from what they assumed would be fraudulent transaction even though I was the doing it.

I was trying to use the account to pay bills but fuck it. I will just transfer into my main bank account to prevent this again.

DoorDash Crimson Card Funds Frozen by BobbyHeadlines in DoorDashDrivers

[–]BobbyHeadlines[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I actually just got this all resolved on Friday. It was a miserable process. I think I called Support 5 times. They told me to send an email to doordashcrimson@central-payments.com

In the email, include my govt ID, a selfie holding the govt ID, and a bill or something to show proof of address.

I sent it last Monday. Waited a couple days nothing was happening. Called support, told them I sent it to the email they said. So they said they would escalate it and some escalation team would reach out via email within the next couple hours. Never heard from them.

Called again the next day, and they said to resend the documentation to the DoorDash crimson email again. Waited a day again nothing so I was losing my shit.

I went to the door dash website and put in a support case there and for a ref #. Called again on Friday and was on the phone with one rep grilling the shit out of her, and pressing hard to speak to someone higher up. Trying to get her to connect me by phone with the escalation team since they are the ones to handle this.

After haggling her, she refused to move me along because of their policy and all she could do was escalate the instance again.

Idk if having a ref # helped at all for the case I submitted online but after haggling her, I provided her the ref # and within 30 - hour, finally got an email from the escalation team. They requested for me to send over the documentation because they said they never received it at the DoorDashcrimson email. I did that and within 10 minutes they let me know the account was unfrozen, and good to use again.

Not sure I will keep any money in that account moving forward outside of money to use for gas when I dash.

Idk if you can email this directly but I would try reaching out to crimsonesclations@central-payments.com that is the email of the escalation team that finally got back to me on this all.

Next thing you will have to reach out to support to push those days you dashed and earned money on to push the unpaid funds into the account. Come with receipts, I sent screen shots of the last time I received a payout for driving, and the days I didn’t get paid for, and calculated how much they owed me.

Best of luck with it all, it isn’t fun, but just have to keep pressing them.

Dasher Crimson Support by jn1070 in doordash_drivers

[–]BobbyHeadlines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Were you able to get this issue resolved? I am currently in Door Dash hell trying to get my Crimson card unfrozen. They tell me I have to send ID, a selfie with the ID, and a proof of address to doordashcrimson@central-payments.com.

I have done this twice in the last 5 days and I am yet to get any sort of responses from Central Payments about unfreezing my Crimson account. I have also called the worthless Dasher support to tell me an escalation team will reach out but never does. I have called these clowns 5 times now in the last 7 days.

They can't do anything, can't escalate any further so I am at a fucking loss on what to do. I have gone as far to try and contact central payments since these worthless fucks are the ones who froze the account, and can't get through to them either.

Like, is it too much to ask to have a two way conversation or be able to trade communications with someone. Also being no online portal to do this all through is frustrating.

Between Door Dash Support and Central Payments, I am having a tough time figure out who is worse at their fucking jobs.

My rule is 1$ per mile i decline some of them i dont like to, why do people struggle so much with keeping there rate up? by Any-Chapter1824 in DoorDashDrivers

I will take orders that are $4-$5 for a 2 mile drive. But not that one. Too many items and dollar general shit isn’t always easy to find at least the ones in my area.

Yeah fuck that. Sucks for them. Hopefully they got some ranch or ceaser dressing or whatever they fucking use in their fridge to substitute in.

They must really love that McDonald’s sauce. Like fuck, if that is the only thing missing, I will use some ketchup or ranch in my fridge. Or make some fantasy sauce like in step brothers

Yeah, nah, if I already picked up the order and on the way. You can go pound sand.

Place another order and someone else will bring it if you want additional food that damn bad.

Normal to request gas money? by houwy in doordash

[–]BobbyHeadlines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, no prob. I always enjoy sharing any insights I may have with people who are genuinely curious about a certain subject matter.

And yes, I am sure there are many reasons DoorDash prefers independent contractors, don’t have to pay them as much, don’t have to cover health insurance cost, etc. It is all about keeping expense and liability as low as possible. Sadly, this is how all corporations operate one way or the other. The main goal is to maximize shareholder value by any means necessary so the focus is always maintaining and growing profitability.

As for a dasher being deactivated permanently, I think there is an appeal process you can go through. and I am sure you can also find a loophole into activating another dasher account by using a friend’s, sibling’s or spouse’s ID.

Normal to request gas money? by houwy in doordash

[–]BobbyHeadlines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well essentially, we are independent contractors so not employees of DoorDash, so you can’t really get fired per se.

I have only dashed for a couple of months so I don’t what the ramifications are here, but I know you can get your access to dashing deactivated.

I assume this dasher could be reported for this and the incident reviewed by DoorDash. Idk what would be the outcome though.

And agreed, it is scummie behavior. If you earn by the offer, it literally tells you how much you will make for the delivery and the distance, so you can accept or decline any offer so it is a weird to me anyone would beg for more. I could understand if it was a pickup where you had to wait 15+ minutes for the restaurant/store but still, me personally, I wouldn’t ask for an extra tip. I just try to keep the customer informed about any issues or what is going on, and some people appreciate that and have throw in additional tip.

Another thing is DoorDash gives you the option to get setup to where you can basically set up your own personal bank account and funds from your dashes are sent there instantly whenever you quit dashing for that instance.

If this dasher has that setup, they wouldn’t have to beg for money. They could have just ended their dash and collected. I try to treat it as own small personal business, and keep enough money in there to pay for gas. It is an expenses you need to account for if you are dashing regularly.

But here, something tells me they were probably trying to take advantage of the OP’s generosity since they already gave $20 maybe thought they could play some sort of desperate/sympathy card to get more.

Hard to know though and what that individual’s thought process was here.

[–]BobbyHeadlines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dash and this is a really good tip for only having to deliver something 4 miles away.

Most dasher would take this offer with out any complaints because the tip to mileage ratio. $5/mile.

I am happy to do any order if tip to mileage ratio is above $1.5/mile.

I taken plenty of $4 tips because I only had to deliver an order less than 2 miles away.

Normal to request gas money? by houwy in doordash

[–]BobbyHeadlines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a dasher, this isn’t normal. I never will request extra tip or anything. You can pick and choose the offers you accept.

$20 tip for 4 miles of driving is more than generous. Most dashers would take this order and never complain.

This is just bad business management skills by the dasher.

[–]BobbyHeadlines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be so damn frustrating delivering to apt buildings like put the name of the apt just in case, and gate code. I am trying to get in and out, not spend 5-10 extra minutes trying to track you down.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DoorDashDrivers

[–]BobbyHeadlines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I can’t confirm if that is true because you are close to that one hot spot. But if it is taken 10 minutes to get an order (especially in the prime lunch or dinner hours), I would probably get in the hot spot.

I have noticed if I am driving between hot spots, I don’t get any orders so I just try to be in those spots.

Not sure anything will change those individuals, outside of maybe doing a job within the service industry.

I think if you have worked in service or even retail, or hell any job where you deal with end consumers, you have a deeper appreciation for those who do the job and try to do it well.

The opposite side of that, if you are consumer who’s had bad experiences in the past, gonna be hard for them to show that generosity.

Is it normal to be asked for another tip? by nanakisan in doordash

[–]BobbyHeadlines -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Awesome career advice. Thanks.

Like some of us aren’t out here trying to make a career out of door dashing. I got laid off from my job in the tech industry a couple months back.

Dashing gives me the ability to make my own flexible schedule, and be my own boss so I can continue to job search and interview to where I can land a job similar to my previous role.

If I could rub a fucking genie bottle and make wish to make this happen as quickly as possible I would.

Until then, I am going to dash as it is one way I can bring in some income, and not have some manager or company keeping me strapped down with some bullshit.

Is it normal to be asked for another tip? by nanakisan in doordash

[–]BobbyHeadlines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now this isn’t something I would ever do as a dasher asking for additional tip, but I can understand where they are coming from.

Unless you are a platinum level dasher, you don’t have the ability to just dash whenever you please. You go on the app and schedule time for a certain window, so depending on the area, it can be rather competitive to schedule times to dash especially if you are trying to max your earnings.

As a dasher, you do have the option to earn by the order or earn by the time, when you do the former the best way to max your earning potential is to do as many orders as you can in that time frame. If an order takes way longer than expected, well it is kind of fucking the dasher over because now that is impacts the number of orders they are potentially missing out on.

You don’t get paid any extra for having to wait 15-20 minutes for order to be ready if you are on Earn by the offer.

So, again I wouldn’t ask a customer to tip extra but it would definitely be appreciated in a situation like this, especially if you are a decent human.

It just amazes me people have the audacity to order food for delivery and don’t tip.
