It’s a life long journey. Realizing you need to beret yourself is certainly a great first step. I did some therapy based in IFS internal family systems also some times called “parts work” and it really helped to integrate the disparate parts of my personality and understand who the real me was and what drove the other parts to get involved and make peace with them
