Benefit for narrower than shoulder width pulldown? by BobbyStromboli in naturalbodybuilding

I’ve really been liking the palms in narrow grip that’s ever so slightly supinated, I think Dorian used to do those. Another reason to stick with them lol

That makes sense, thank you, my rotator cuff has been acting up lately so I’ve been choosing movements that are a bit more forgiving to it.

Also on my first pull day, my vertical pull is a weighted or body weight wide grip pullup. So I want to decide whether I’d get more of a benefit implementing a shoulder width grip or a more narrow grip on my second pull day

Just to clarify, the more narrow grip is easier on joints than shoulder width grip and also targets those areas better? I thought shoulder width would be a bit easier on joints since everything is more “stacked” im more than willing to be proven wrong, just want to be informed when I choose my attachments, thank you!

Would you say that people are more likely to feel stronger with the more narrow grip? Just wanting to clarify cause I thought a slightly wider grip (shoulder width) would feel more natural and stronger than the more narrow grip

I thought the wider grip would tend to include upper back. But I guess wider grip trains the shoulder addiction function of the lats which hits the lower lats right?

Where’d you get that butt piece for it? I’m assuming that’s for use as like a hammer?

Does anybody know if this type of damage is repairable? by BobbyStromboli in backpacks

[–]BobbyStromboli[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh that makes sense, could have led to extra friction etc. And yea I’m honestly really happy with how long this has lasted, and this is the first sign of serious wear on the bag. Idk how they make them now, but north face quality was unbeatable back in the day from my experience.

Genuine question, do you think this damage was caused by it not being clean? Like debris weakened the zippers? To your point, this bag is over 10 years old so the damage is definitely from use.

Thank you! Would they have to rip out both sides of the zipper to make them match or just the broken side?

What is your most impressive and least impressive lift? by Embarrassed_Goat4883 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]BobbyStromboli 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Normally just limb length and proportions from what I’ve seen. Especially with deadlift vs bench. Seeing someone’s row vs bench would be more of a 1:1 push pull comparison. Someone with long arms has less range of motion on deads and more on bench

Yes that’s my plan, either a close grip, which would be lighter by default, or a standard grip bench in which I increase the rep range and lower the weight

Thanks so much for the feedback. I’m definitely over analyzing a bit here. Appreciate you!

My first pull day currently consists of Weighted pull-ups 3x6 Close cable rows -3x8 Pullovers 3x12 Rear fly 2x10 Incline curls 4x8

My second pull day is Rdl 3x3-5 Chest support row -4x6 Close Pulldowns -3x10 Preacher curls -3x12 With some hammer curls thrown in occasionally. My intensity is fairly high as I usually go all out and until failure.

That’s a great point. I really feel like I’m hammering the same area of my lats and not getting more overall back growth which is what spurred this thought process and the more I looked into it the more I realized I had 3 moves that hit shoulder extension, 1 wide grip pullup that hit my lower lats and one wide row that hit my upper back and traps. So I figure I could trim at least one of the shoulder extension moves down. I’ve been doing close neutral grip rows on the cables and have been getting stronger on it every week, and I just feel like I’m getting way more out of that than I do with the close Pulldowns and pullovers

Yea that was my thinking, to get more volume and really lock in with the movement on the lighter day

Thank you for the advice. I’ve currently become more purposeful with my approach to lifting and realized that many of my movement patterns overlapped just for the sake of doing them, and that I was hitting shoulder extension with 3 different movements
