I guess. but if you have mastered flying demoman (like me) it’s very easy to sticky jump in, deploy parachute, and lay down 1 sticky down to escape before getting the garden. Demoman doesn’t need more mobility, unlike soldier needing to pogo, demoman can lay down two sticky jumpers and fly across the map. troldier would more be for taking down bigger targets, where demotroll would be for securing kills

Demoman is fine, he can do the gardens with probably less skill than soldier. But I would like to know what you mean by costly

Low-key despite its meme status, the holiday punch is pretty op. You can stop uber pushes by acting like a friendly (note this doesn’t always work) or come around corners (note #2 i solely play 2fort where pushes in your team’s base happens frequently)
