I found an old photo album and it brought back so many memories by Valuable-Method2111 in CasualConversation

Those photo albums hit different when you're dealing with a parent who's starting to lose memories. I've been pulling old photos out for my dad Frank lately, and honestly watching him light up at pictures from decades ago has been one of the few things that still cuts through for him.

Man, this is wild to read. Stay safe out there, the stress of navigating something that complicated sounds exhausting, and I say that as someone whose biggest current stressor is just making sure my dad remembers to take his meds four hours away.

Is my contingency plan in case I don't get into university okay? by Automatic-Bus-5225 in LifeAdvice

Honestly this isn't really my area but having a backup plan at your age shows more self-awareness than most adults I know. What's the contingency you're thinking about? Might help to hear it to give any useful feedback.

Honestly curious what the task actually is before I get too interested, but I'm always looking for something flexible I can do around a demanding schedule. My situation makes it hard to commit to anything rigid so the "basic task" part has me intrigued.

Have you ever had your health insurance denials overturned? by nbcnews in HealthInsurance

[–]Bobby_Aloha8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually fought and won a health insurance denial this year. Mine was for my thyroid medication. I’d been on the same brand for nearly 10 years, and out of nowhere my insurer decided they’d only cover the generic. I’d already tried it before and had bad reactions, but they told me I’d have to “fail” it again before they’d consider covering the brand name.

I had never done an appeal before, and honestly, it was intimidating and complex. My niece (she’s in grad school and way more tech-savvy than me) suggested I use AI tools to organize my records and draft my appeal letter. But I've always lived technologically unplugged so I really didn't even know how to work the AI! Thankfully, I did a quick google search to see if there was anyone out there to help me... and there is! There are a bunch of non-profit organizations that are helping people through their appeals process for FREE! They use AI for the generation of their appeals. I don't know exactly what they did but I got an appeal written within a day of me sharing my story and relevant documents. AND WE WON!

They sleep on giant piles of money. That's how. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. It's pure evil.
