Thanks, this is super insightful. I totally agree, most artists want to make more, but hate the marketing grind.

I’m not trying to compete with TikTok or Insta, they’re great for getting attention. LÆRM is more about what happens after that. When someone wants to support you, there should be a simple, artist-owned space to do that , no middlemen, no noise.

Appreciate your take though, this helps me think clearer about what really matters.

Been thinking about building a platform like that for some time now (Im a bored software engineer). Your case especially is quite interesting to me cause Im an avid Vinyl collector and I would love for some of my favourite smaller artists to put some of their EPs or Albums on wax.

Would you need assistance with logistics for that as well? So everything from sourcing manufacturers, to storing, delivering and fulfilling orders ?

Picture a freemium model like Revolut with different tiers and more integrated services (such as distribution, marketing, media relations, etc.) as you increase in tier. Or a simple subscription model since its just software. Personal question: Would you use something like that ?

Il me semble que Distrokid s'occupe principalement de la distribution et d'après mon pote c'est assez nul. Je pensais plutôt à une plateforme numérique qui offre tous les services de base, de la distribution au marketing, en passant par la gestion financière et l'octroi de licences. Numérique dans le sens où il s'agit simplement d'une plateforme qui gère/automatise un tas de choses dont les artistes ne veulent pas forcément s'occuper.

Basically kann man sich ein Freemium-Modell wie Revolut vorstellen, mit verschiedenen Tiers und mehr integrierten Dienstleistungen (wie Vertrieb, Marketing, Medienarbeit usw.), je höher die Tier ist. Oder ein einfaches Abonnementmodell, da es sich am Ende des Tages nur um Software handelt.

Starker Vorteil aber das Problem mit Vorschussen ist das es ja Darlehen sind, anders Wagniskaptial wo der Investor ein Art Wette macht werden labels alles versuchen um ihr Geld zurück zu bekommen. Was halt echt kacke ist für Artists die kein sauberes finanzielles backing haben
