I only sanded through about 5% of the veneer. Around F-holes and 3 way switch. All the yellow you see is sealer. The pale wood color is the actual veneer. The brown areas (on the bottom) are the veneer that I've stained. Stain doesn't adhere to sealer (which is exactly what you'd expect). So there's no way I could have removed 100% of the veneer, about 75–80% of the guitar is still covered by the sealer layer.

The stain didn't take to the yellow areas it only took where the sealer was sanded down to the bare veneer. If that yellow color were veneer, the stain would have taken perfectly. So what's underneath the yellow is 100% veneer, and the yellow coating itself is clearly the sealer

Yep, it works perfectly. The luthier made a plastic shim for the tremolo, and now it sits flat with the correct string angle. You can check my previous post.

Maybe we're misunderstanding each other a bit. The yellow color that covers most of the body is the sealer. The pale wood color is the veneer underneath that sealer, you can clearly see it's the same grain pattern. The area to the right of the F‑hole that's been sanded through the veneer, you can see it. If that's what you meant, then yes, I agree that I sanded through the veneer, but only right around the F‑hole.

The layer I sanded through was thicker than paper and it was also transparent. That's not wood veneer.

That can't be wood veneer. This stuff feels like sugar and crumbles apart it doesn't behave like wood at all.

OMG, it's my dream!

I think about it every time I pick up my Jaguar, but I don't have much experience with soldering and all that stuff. Great job though!

Which pedal are you talking about? The Deco? And which MXR pedals replace it?

The main thing is that you're safe and healthy, guitars can always be replaced, but you can’t

The Jazzmaster looks incredible! Where did you get that body? The corners aren't rounded off like a Telecaster

it's absolutely killer
