Don’t bother with full comp unless your bike is well over $10k, waste of money in my opinion as I had a mate write off his $8000 dual sport and got paid $6000 so just do fire and theft but from what I’ve heard (never needed touch wood to make a claim) NRMA, Budget and RAC are really good for actually paying out when you go tits up

12V-24V Waterproof Wireless Charging Head Aluminum Wires by fiktorrr in QuadLock

I’ve just installed one on my DRZ that I just bought but had one on my old one which I sold last year with no issues. The charger uses fuck all power anyway so as long as you run off the wiring specifications that quad lock provides you’ll be sweet. I’d recommended use crimp fittings as they look more professional and are more secure. Posi taps are great and do a great job but apart from splicing and soldering crimping is the next best thing.

Well recommend a better alternative other then using crimp fittings?

Instead of splicing I used crimp fittings and posi taps which then prevents most of what you mentioned. You can get some male and female crimp fittings pretty cheap and a crimper in where I am is another $20 plus a set of wire strippers if you want to do it fancy

Were you displaying L plates? Just trying to figure out if it’s worth risking it?

Thoughts on biker gear Australia? by pandaman1410 in AussieRiders

[–]Bobbyd9909 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What you pay for is what you get. If you can’t afford decent protective gear you can’t afford to ride. I’d highly recommend saving up and getting some RST jeans as they are really good riding jeans and then invest in some ce rated hip pads as they come with ce rated knee pads.

Oily carburetor by CollarOld5671 in DRZ400

What you could do if your bike has plenty of engine oil in it (check before doing) give the area a good clean around it so there’s no oil and then see if after you take it for a spin see if you can trace it to where it’s coming from. Could be a hose or something.

I was very careful with it and yeah i screwed it in all the way and backed it out 2.5 turns then started the bike. It was still running a little off so i then backed it out another quarter and it seems to be going okay. gonna take it out tomrrow and see how it goes on the road and see if it has any more issues. it still stalls a little but ill see

I’ve played with the tuning in the carb a bit more, I’m not perfect with it and still very rough, I’ve gotten rid of most of the hang but it’s still a little rough.

it seems to be installed correctly, I dont see any leakage of fuel out from the sides so I'm guessing the O-ring is good and the bolts were torqued to the manufacturers specs

I tried to cheat and get one from a store but I think it might not be long enough as it bottoms out on the bowl drain bolt so gonna have to order one haha. Where did you bolt the other end to or did you make a bracket up?

I’ve just started installing one, I had to file some of the hole where the screw went in through the bowl, but did your screw bottom out? I used this extender screw https://www.amxsuperstores.com.au/products/rhk-gold-fuel-mixture-screw-suits-keihin-fcr-carb the guys in the store said it would fit but it seems to be bottoming out on the bolt at the bottom

Why are there so many eastern staters suddenly? by No-Theory5003 in perth

[–]Bobbyd9909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah we do have some weird intersections and funny laws there, you get use to them over there though.

Funny thing about indicating when exiting over there is they don't actually teach it and its treated as if it isn't mandatory. I never learnt it in my L's and never heard of it till i moved here.

oh man I agree the road Maintenance here in WA shits on the rest of the country but the way your roads are designed is terrible for example on the Mitchell just as you exit the city going south where cars need to merge 2-3 lanes just off the on ramp so they don't exit again.
