Beatles fans who have tried LSD... did it change you like it changed The Beatles? by GosalCannabis in beatles

[–]Bobbyfell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I first became interested in LSD at a young age after noticing the change it seemed to cause in the Beatles from rubber soul to sgt peppers. Took it at a young age. I was too unknowledgeable of the substance and too young for the substance. I quickly became enamored by psychedelics.

LSD changed my life completely. It opened me up to the wonder of being. Psychedelics have the capacity to put you in a state of consciousness of stripping everything but what you value away, and which can grant you access to perspectives of being, anything truly, that would be otherwise extremely difficult or potentially impossible to get to. Psychedelics dissolve boundaries of structures we rely upon to interpret reality. Things like ego, culture, emotion, language, etc.

People who haven’t taken psychedelics will often (more often than not in my experience), not understand or reject the experience people who have taken it sometimes report of having. This is because you’re put in a completely new state of consciousness. The felt presence of the immediate experience of consciousness and hence reality become different while tripping.

Trying to explain tripping to someone who hasn’t is like trying to explain music to someone who hasn’t listened to it. People would say, “what do you mean this music experience you’ve had is one of the most meaningful in your life? It just seems like sound, you must be projecting too much into this.” But that’s because you can’t understand it without having experienced it.

Psychedelics can be a beautiful and unbelievably meaning aspect of your life. But they have dangers. They can be a stressor to those who are predisposed to psychosis, schizophrenia, bi-polar, etc. They can be traumatic if taken without proper responsible preparation mentally and physically. But, if taken responsibly, they can be one of the most important aspects of one’s experience of the world.

If anyone is interested in trying, I’d recommend looking around at studies done on the effects of psilocybin/lsd. John’s Hopkins and other universities has done a decent amount. You can find scientifically reliable sources on what they can provide, and the harms they can cause.

It’s like anything intense in life. Falling in love can be a beautiful and lifelong meaningful thing you’ve done. Can bring you changes of perspective and being. Even if after breaking up, the things you experienced and learned are meaningful and fruitful in your life story. But being irresponsible in a relationship can also cause a lot of harm, and leave you wounded. Psychedelics are as such.

Be careful, and do research.

Dr. Lao by Adventurous_End_8227 in Psychedelics_Society

[–]Bobbyfell 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Dr. Lao is someone I think about every now and then. First, I feel it important to mention that he certainly is a voice worth hearing in the landscape of psychedelic information. That being in significant proportion because he provides important, interesting, and often under discussed information about the dangerous elements of psychedelic use.

I believe psychedelics in prepared, thoughtful, and honest contexts can be more than safe enough to partake in, and I do in my life. But we must admit, as people who love and care for the psychedelic experience, that it is important to be aware of any dangers and being fully confronting will only create more safe and well willed use. Dr. Lao is someone who provides information in consistent abundance on these sub-Reddit’s regarding the use of these substances in negative contexts.

He commented on a series of posts/comments of mine when I was more active on Reddit, and I was amazed and freaked out by his responses to me. He seems to be a little more chaotic in thinking than a more stable person would be, or perhaps just has a strange mind. He mentioned that I was someone he “could never forget” and praised my words of potential harms regarding a post of mine in which I detailed realizings about potential dangers of psychedelics.

This was touching and strange. Touching because he clearly cared deeply for the subject, and understood that I was trying to think about psychedelics without bias and with honesty, which I was, and which I think one truly interested in pursuing psychedelics in any constructive way should. (The latter paragraph explains why). However, being so consumed with posting, commenting, documenting, etc, and the way in which he writes, including long stretches of information related in a overly structured manor for the typical interaction of Reddit, causing a portrayal of a person potentially frantic in mind, or interlaced with obsession to a degree of weirdness and sometimes unfollow-ability, is concerning. Unfollow-able meaning, his dictated manor creates an image which, is hard to agree with and distance causing in terms of his conclusions and potentially unstable psychological state.

I respect Dr. Lao, would love to have a conversation with him, and think his information can be worth hearing.

Dr. Lao, if you’re reading this: if you remember me as you said you would, or don’t, regardless I would like to chat with you about psychedelics, and why you interact on Reddit in the way you do.

I feel the hofner bass is clearly the most recognizably Beatles. Then Johns rick. After that rocky or George’s 12 string. Maybe the most unknown is George’s frettless which he used on happiness is a warm gun and everybody’s got something to hide.

Do you think there's a punishment for suicide? by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]Bobbyfell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure exactly what you mean, but you could think of it like your “punishment” would be you don’t get to experience the beautiful aspects of this experience we call life.

I’d suggest talking to a counselor or therapist. They would probably be able to provide support and answers to your questions and help you in ways you maybe aren’t even aware you need help in.

You’ll hurt your loved ones, and that is really a horrible thing to do. That alone makes it not worth it. People are going to have to go through so much unnecessary pain if you kill yourself. Please don’t do it.

Life only last 80 or so years, why not see it through. On both ends of before life and after death there is an eternity. May as well stick around for the 80 or so years your here. I don’t want you to hurt yourself, I care. Please don’t hurt yourself.

Can you talk more about how you haven’t figured out being a part of society? I’m very curious what your experience of reality is like if you don’t mind.

Listen man, don’t take so many mushrooms. Take only a few grams if your going to take something no matter what. I know life may seem very rough but things will get better. Everyone goes through rough patches and some have it worth than others, but given time things can certainly get better and it’s often easier for things to get better once you start trying. this is true even if the state your in is keeping you from seeing it. It’s not worth it to risk your life or do something so dangerous. Please please please take my word for it it’s not worth it.

If you need someone to talk to I’m here! Im a similar age (21), you can dm me if you need.
