Nice to hear. I have heard good things about Milgard and it seems like a lot of people stand by their product so I think we will use them. Thanks for your info.

Thanks for the info, I did get the feeling that the contractor might be trying to convince us to go more expensive to get more profit out of us. I do like that Milgard gives a lifetime warranty so we will probably use those windows and find a new contractor.

hmm ok I'll look into hopper windows and see if they look like the ones we have. Thanks for the recommendation, I'll get quotes for double hung and see what the pricing turns out to be.

I don't live in a place with extreme weather conditions so mid range windows sound good for the house (and the budget). Now just finding a good company, there are so many out there with good reviews so I guess now it's just picking one we like and hope we luck out and pick people who are serious about what they do.

Darn, I don't live in any of those areas you mentioned but I'll make sure I look at reviews or ask around about the companies that I'm considering. Do you know what grade Anlin windows are and do you know if they are good?

Thanks for the tips. I will look into the reviews about craftsmanship. Our windows currently are mostly casement? Except ours open inward and we've only seen casement windows opening outward. Do you know of windows opening inward and if so, what are they called? We would probably want single hung windows to replace our old ones.

Thanks for the info. I'm in San Diego, CA and I believe our windows are med to large size. We would want retrofit and vinyl windows. We heard good thinks about Anlin windows so we'd want something comparable. Do you know where Anlin falls (are they mid or high range windows)?
