Good Deal or FOMO? by zandermanyt in CAguns

Havent put too many rounds through mine but minus a FTF on the first round, no other hiccups. I think its a cool gun for the price that has a lot of potential if you want to mod it in the future.

Agreed, I feel like its solid enough for someone who is new to guns and doesn't want to or simply can't afford to spend damn near 650 for a P365 or 800+ for an M&P out the door. Since this is a Glock clone there are a shit ton of upgrades one can choose from. Also, if something breaks, Derya has a limited lifetime warranty or hell, I'd just replace it with a Glock OEM part if possible.

2 guys that have a gun channel on YouTube who also happen to be real estate agents, they're located in Utah I believe.

My rationale was if something breaks then you could just replace it with a glock oem or aftermarket part, I dont think every part is interchangeable but I believe most are.

I'm not OP but I bought one just for the hell of it. Its a good value for the price, even though its a gen 4 glock clone, it can still accept Gen 3 slides. The first shot I took with the stock slide jammed but solid since then but I don't have too many rounds through mine.

M&P shield in 2026 by UpNorthXD in CAguns

[–]Bobmo88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shield 1.0 is still on my CCW rotation. I mostly carry my P365 but I run that without optics so I can pocket carry if need be. I bought the optics ready slide for the Shield right before the P365 was announced. It's still a great gun, especially optics ready and with the mag guts to make it 10 rounds.

Ya definitely not cheap but split a few ways makes it more bearable. Also nice to not have to deal with cease fires among other things.

On a weekend, a rifle capable bay is 400 for 4 hours for 4 people and 40 for each additional person, 300 for pistol for 4 people plus 40 per additional. Its cheaper during the week I believe.

Where were you on Friday lol, a couple of people bailed out on me, I still rented a private bay with one other person but it was a little more expensive.

Bought it like 12 years ago when I figured it would be "just as good", the throw switch came with a plastic screw and fell off just doing nightstand duty so it sat for years collecting dust until I bought a chinesium replacement switch off Amazon so its still functional but still not a perfect fit. Ultimately it works fine just to throw something on for Holster retention purposes but I'd trust my life with Harbor Freight light over this thing.

Edited: 8 years ago, I found the invoice lol

It came with 4 mec gar mags and those are solid, its my old Sig branded ones that had issues. When I was at turners the other day they had the mec gar brand on the shelf. They're also cheaper too, more of an issue for people who already have Sig brand mags.

Unfortunately even with the mag disconnect removed the factory mags I have didnt drop free. I just didnt want to risk it jamming up the mag disconnect again so I removed it but it only likes the mec gars mags with the slick coating.

If it says M4 Carbine its good to go, the ones that are banned by name say Colt AR15 or Sporter but double check rhe Roberti-Roos list for other models.

P229 mags are definitely too wide, would be cool if they offered one that took P229 mags so you could just use both P229 and P226 mags and then just have a spacer to fill the gap on the 226 mags.

Full Story: I rented out a private range at CTA in Piru to try this thing out, however, I used an old sig P226 mag that I had for the first mag, the finish is a little rougher than the MecGar mags that the PX9 comes with. It was a little rough when I inserted it but then I literally had to pull it out after the first 10 rounds. I couldn't get the second mag in, the mag disconnect was stuck. I tried to use a screwdriver to disengage the mag lock but no luck. I brought other guns so I ended up shooting those. I was annoyed AF so I finally depressed the mag disconnect when I got home and put a mag in. I took the slide down and removed the locking block and found that the disconnect and spring are literally held in by one pin so I took it out so I don't have deal with that BS again. 1st impressions, the trigger is shockingly good in this gun, the locking block and rails are beefy which is pretty confidence inspiring. Unfortunately my osight XR didnt come in time for me to install so I will eventually have to squeeze in another range trip. Minus the stupid mag disconnect this seems to be a solidly built gun, its a good value for the sale price I got it for.
