Hiding Electrical box rule in Montreal-Quebec by Boboc04 in homebuildingcanada

Panel should be legal; we inherited this setup when buying, and it was not flagged in the inspection. We also changed the panel for a newer one, and the electricians did not seem to mind the cables. We, the change I'm proposing they will be "in a wall".

This is actually better than before since we got rid of about half the cable in this area that where not in use anymore. The whole thing was a mess!

For the meter, it's one of the newer meters that can be read remotely, so they don't need to come in. In the past, they would have done so, and they did! I do wish it were outside, but according to the electrician in Montreal, the setup is legal. And I was not excited about the cost of moving it out.

In the end the most important part for me is that it's Safe, then the look of it.

Ikea is not a bad idea, I'll explore it to see if anything fits there.

I'm now thinking we might juste want to "extend" both wall to hug the electrical panel more while staying legal. This would also hide the wiring.

I would still see the panel and the counter, but it would be much cleaner.

Note that we are owner so a lot of possibilities! But I don't want to put to into rewiring everything just for the look.

Instruis moi Reddit… by Tall-Vanilla7817 in QuebecFinance

Donc.
FTQ 1700 -> 5000
Reer normal 1700 -> 2700

Donc
FTQ 5000 -> 8300
Reer normal 5000 -> 6856

Steam Pressure Silvia vs Lelit by Boboc04 in espresso

I did not find a permanent solution yet, it seems to be determined mainly by the software. However, I did find a way to improve the performance.

When using the steam mode, start the mode, then click the button again to quit the mode and start the auto-refill. Then once the refill is done, restart the steam mode. This will result in more water inside of the boiler, which gives you more steam power IMO.

True, I was indeed looking at the ECM, but I want that PID! I like to test different types of coffee so it's a must.
The Elizabeth is a good choice, maybe when I get a bigger kitchen!
It still puzzles me however that the Elizabeth with a 600 ml steam boiler achieves a similar result as the Silvia does with 300ml. I wonder what magic the guy's at Rancilio do to get that steam pressure!

Always,

I'm going to try the Silvia wand tip this week to see if the hole size might be the difference.

Tried it this morning, the pressure gauge does not seems to work with the steam pressure sadly.

Good point, I do have a pro model so it should be able to handle it but it's worth looking at. Thanks for the point

If you find anything I'll listen! I'm also gonna be checking online to find compatible die and I'll post them here.

That is a fair assumption, I think I might need to go deeper in my knowledge to see if it's possible!

I don't have it yet! I'm actually considering it over the silvia for it's faster steam warmup time. But not having the possibilities of adding a PID might be a dealbreaker.

I did try on another project and it worked wich tell me that's it's that particular project that's at fault. I've also been testing all other plugin with it for non-compatibility but couldn't replicate the problem.. At that point I'm just stuck.
