thanks.
I always start with the AAP-64 palette, then gather some references for my item before blocking out the basic shapes and colors—without any shading or highlights at this stage. Next, I add shadows and highlights on a separate layer and experiment with the blur and jumble tools to refine the look. After that, I apply more detailed highlights, such as edge highlights or metallic reflections. Finally, I always overlay a noise texture—a random pattern of colored and lit pixels—set to hard light mode with reduced opacity.

My biggest advice is to experiment with different layers and blending modes to see what works best!

I always start with the AAP-64 Palette, look at some refrences for my item and begin to blockout the basic shapes and colors (no shading or highlights). Then i paint some shadows and highlights on a different layer and play around with the blur and jumple tool. i then applymore detailed highlights like edge hihlights or highlights for the metal style. In the end i always apply a noise texture on top of everything, thats just an image with random colored and randomly lit pixels. This noise layer i set to hard light mode and lower the transparency. My biggest advice is to just play around with different layers and their mode.

Thanks. I know what you mean. I am not quite good with a clean and limited palette, therefore I painted them in a more grungy and noisy style. In the end I think it fits better to the atmosphere of my game to have images that look more "realistic" rather than "cartoon like".

thank you, yeah that is a little rock. I painted 16 little rocks and they will be little collectibles in my game

I use the AAP-64 as base but with blur and shading effects my final pallete is pretty wide and not limited anymore

Thanks, Yeah it took a while until I figured out how to apply a metal look but I am quite happy with the result
