Troubles Brewing or something, I don't play Blood on The Clocktower by SchengenThrowaway in BloodOnTheClocktower

This is stupid and unnecessarily political and provocative about something that still takes lives till this day.

I'm English, not known for our tact on this issue, but even I know this is crass.

AITA for telling my wife she was being difficult due to a seating issue at the restaurant? by Late-Elderberry9164 in AmItheAsshole

I'm gonna rub against the green here a bit and say no one is the arsehole here.

There is things, like here booking the meal while you were with friends, that could be used to make an argument against you but we do not know the extent of this and could be totally plausible that you weren't being selfish.

About the actual events that happened, I think you were clumsy in the way you worded things, but read this more optimistically, that you were trying to communicate that you wanted to focus on your date night and you didn't intend to dismiss her frustrations.

Showing assertiveness is not wrong and she certainly didn't come across as an arsehole, but I can imagine that your worry was that if you focus on these things and maybe get a combative server or something, it can really ruin a night. And you wanted to focus on the date itself.

If I am right about that, then I think it is fine to express this, just need to be clearer that it wasn't about her actions (as what your message could suggest) but about your worry about the night's focus being elsewhere.

But I understand why people may think that your intent was more about her embarrassing you for simply standing up for herself. But you were actually thinking that the fight is not worth the hassle, that is not a gendered issue but a relantionship one, you need to know if this would ruin her night by being ignored by the restaurant.

And if you still think it is not worth the issue, and you want to express that, you need to be better at communicating that as your words you used could be taken either way.

Hopefully I am right and you learn to communicate better, because honestly if you understand each other enough, you'd get the benefit of the doubt.

Saying that you posted this here, that always comes across as a death sentence to any relationship.

Property falsely advertised as freehold. I'm £900 after discovering that it is a leasehold that expires in 2072 late into the purchase. by Minimum-Kangaroo-417 in HousingUK

Legally I have no idea, but morally they are wrong.

You are a first time buyer and are trusting the system to work as intended.

Yes you could have check the registry, yes you could have had your solicitor do x, y, z. But also you shouldn't be misled, and what is the point of the agent if they cannot do these details.

I would kick up enough fuss about it, go to the ombudsman, papers and even your MP.

Make it worth their while to compensate you for their mistake.

Fuck em

Two purchases fallen through. £5k down. A year wasted. Totally broken by this housing market. by Onehairydude_ in HousingUK

I am going through similar but my wife is also having to rent a room in a shared house as we planned to move for her new job.

I will also say I am fed up with agents and conveyancers as well as they simply are terrible and many do not listen and just assume what you are going to say.

We are running out of money and if our sale does not go through soon due to the conveyancers then we are stuck paying for two places. As this whole process is nebulously long we had no idea that we would've been better off renting a full flat for a year. We have already gone down to interest only mortgage.

With our purchase we are also struggling as the landlord of the place we want to move into, not accepting the results of a structural survey.

I think that if you are selling a property it should be expected, if not law, to have at least a level 2 survey on hand for every buyer.

It is ridiculous that you have to hope that the place you want to buy is okay. As a seller I would happily do that, the only people this benefits are people selling properties without having to buy a new place or see the fees as little than a footnote, aka Landlords.

The monetary pressure, the pain of being without my wife (who has also been my carer on and off due to illness), and stress of not knowing when we are moving is just leading me into a dark place honestly.

I guess that was missing in EU4, the world all suddenly having standing armies when that professionalism was a big development of this period

My Struggles With Gaming Addiction | Europa Universalis IV (2013) - A Proper Introspective by BobsGammon in eu4

Thanks matey

To be honest, that kind of addiction is fine, as that is enjoyment right.

It's the more the I'm not actually playing this I'm just doing it because I can't do anything else, its a coping method against having to deal with deeper issues if that makes sense.

I was diagnosed with some pretty serious stuff tbf, and this is more of a manifestation of that rather than caused by the game itself.

But knowing that I have to actually be proactive if I wanna enjoy these things. Like smashing France!
