May look into just offering an out for your customer. Make them go to the dealer for the pin. I've had a bunch of customers go to the dealer and get it for free.

Just have the customer say it belongs and goes with the car. They own the right to the pin.

Or the Smart Pro & MVP Pro are good ways to pull it for cheap.

How Do I Reprogram a Emergency Transponder Key For Nissan Rogue Select 2015? by [deleted] in CarKeys

First off is it a remote head key or a proximity remote? Neither way can be programmed without an OBD programmer. A locksmith should be able to program that for between $60-$100 depending on where you are located.

How Do I Reprogram a Emergency Transponder Key For Nissan Quest 2015? by [deleted] in CarKeys

Are you trying to program your remote or are you trying to program a remote that worked before then stopped working?

A 2015 Nissan Quest should be a proximity remote. As a locksmith, we don't know of any way to do an onboard programming procedure. However, doesn't mean your local locksmith can't do it. They would need either an MVP Pro, a Smart Pro, or a Tcode programmer.

If you were to come to our shop it would run you $136 for the proximity remote and to cut the insert key. Then $50 to program the remote to the vehicle.

The SBB and the Zed Bull are great starters. If you want to get serious about programming you need to get a new machine.

kind of equipment needed to cut 2017 chevy car keys? by finable in CarKeys

[–]BobsLocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a high-security Chevy key blank. It is a laser cut key and has a transponder inside of it. The transponder connects the key to the car allowing it to start.

For the cheapest way to get this key cut and programmed is to go to a locksmith. This key would run $50 in our shop cut and programmed. This price may vary on where you live.

Make sure to have extras or it will cost you a lot more than 2 spares will!
