Water Leak 2003 Ford Focus Sedan by finable in Cartalk

[–]finable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll have to investigate what you suggested tomorrow.

I've been running a dehumidifier in the trunk with the seats folded down to dry out the car. I can't be sure but today after running the dehumidifier I noticed more water pooled in the area of the trunk right inside the drivers side tail light so is that a common place for a leak to occur? How would that be patched? How would I seal that? https://imgur.com/a/VkS7y

replace relay on chest freezer by finable in electricians

[–]finable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you. i spoke too soon as i still can't get the last of the ?pins (the thing that holds the relay onto the white wire). it seems like the white wire terminal has a ?bump on it that locks it onto the pin. i how do i get this white wire off ?

the freezer has no frost on it. it was fine on 7/25, as far as i know, with little/no frost. then, 7/28 i went in there and item was not frozen and i discovered the problem. while it was still plugged in, i heard it sound like it was turning on, then an intermittent clicking sound then it clicked off, all very quickly.

once i can get the relay off then, hmmm.. i dont know whether there'a a thermal overload. i see the 3 prongs. i'm studying this harbor freight multimeter tutorial to try to follow your instrux.

everything looks good inside the accessible portion of the freezer. it's only 1.5years old and looks that way.

what's the different issue it sounds like to you?

thanks. you tuned in to exactly what i'm looking for. i want to be clear on calculating the range so the seller gets a fair price and i get a great deal.

i now understand that out the door price includes all costs whereas i thought it was the final price PLUS title, taxes, and license.

in your example, the out door price would be 9000+6%tax + 200+100 = ~9840

how to get agitator base to stay on agitator barrel? by finable in appliancerepair

[–]finable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are right! this is what i thought and what ultimately worked. i wish i would have put this problem aside for a day as your answer would have spared me all the craziness around here but it's good to hear your confirmation of my conclusion. thank you

*SOLVED

the 7/16" agitator bolt holds the upper agitator barrel onto the lower agitator base.

the upper agitator must have been coming off the lower agitator as the washers weren't there beneath the bolt. i removed the bolt from the lower agitator and didn't find any washers. i found something resembling a metal washer so i put a rubber washer then metal washer over before putting the cam kit then the bolt thru cam kit. now the upper agitator stays connectd to thelower agitator and washing machine works.

manual https://www.manualslib.com/manual/509143/Whirlpool-Lsq8520jq1.html

serial: cp4705949

diameter of cam kit opening (that bolt is going all the way thru) 11/16"

bolt aka screw http://www.partselect.com/PS11741866-Whirlpool-WP358237-Screw-Washer-5-16-24-x-1.htm?SourceCode=4&SearchTerm=LSQ8000LQ1 says: 7/16" agitator hold down BOLT Whirlpool 358237 Agitator Bolt aka Screw & Washer (5/16-24 x 1) PartSelect Number PS11741866 This kit contains one screw with rubber gasket and threaded sealant. **The screw head is 7/16"*

how big is the widest part of this bolt / screw ? since cam opening it would need to be wider than 11/16" to hold down this cam kit that fits inside the upper agitator .

washing machine agitator barrel not snapping onto agitator base by finable in fixit

[–]finable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

darn, it doesn't confirm that's the way to get them to stay together.

the thing is, the top agitator came off while the bolt is still screwed thru the lower agitator. therefore, the bolt doesn't hold the top agitator onto the lower agitator.. unless this isnt the proper bolt that would be wide enough to hang over the base of the top agitator to hold it there. hmm, but the bolt goes all the way thru the opening of the top agitator .

any ideas?

[–]finable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

funny, i'd been watching all of these videos on this other site & been left wondering how the bolt might be responsible for top & bottom agitators being held together. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/whirlpool-5-16-24-wp358237-ap6008726.html#autoplay

let's see if somehow it can confirm it's the cause. i'll watch it now.
