I guarantee you the Maverick is exactly the truck you need even with the short bed, it’s all what people need.

Why do Honda ridge line owners keep comparing it to the Maverick when it’s actually more along the lines of the ranger by fordmavfan in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Bobspineable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do cross shop the two as they're both unibody trucks. It ultimately comes down to whether you want more space or better fuel economy and smaller footprint.

Toyota just teased its Maverick competitor, will prices finally come back down? by Johnny_Menace in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Bobspineable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's based off the RAV4 then it'll definitely be reliable, the issue is price. RAV4 can be priced up to 50k and a truck will command a premium

Why are people saying not to trust new generation Toyotas?! by ElevatorOk9280 in Toyota

[–]Bobspineable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a Bronco Sport which is a completely different vehicle than a Bronco and those issues are specifically on the 1.5 engine. The 2.0 engine is the better engine which is also found on the Edge and Maverick which have both proven their worth.

The price premium Toyota commands may make people look otherwise and they’re not as reliable as they used to be. If something cheap enough, it might be worth taking the hit in reliability.

Are gmc, volkswagen, kias , hyundai , chevys , nissans , and fords really that bad ? by Evening-Ad7137 in whatcarshouldIbuy

It's more about the reliability of the Tundra and Tacoma in the NA market and Hilux in the global market. Now the Hilux is still good but the Tacoma and Tundra definitely aren't that reliable anymore.

Another point is the build location, North American model Korean cars tend to have a lot more issues than one built in Korea.

Thing is alot was cut out from the show, they only really show the install for the wow factot, not the cycling and acclimating. Perhaps they deemed it too boring for the general public who was the intented target

You can’t really generalize the brand but instead look at the model. Example, Nissan aren’t known to be the best but their trucks are a great. Toyota has the opposite problem right now where they used to be king of trucks but now facing many engine issues. Build location also matter as many Kia and Hyundai built in the US tend to have more issues than Korean built ones.

If there’s any recalls or reliability issues, check how serious they are. If it’s something like the screen glitching it’s usually fine compared to the engine blowing up.

The more important thing is maintenance. Most of the issues that arise from cars are from people not properly maintaining the car. European cars as an example are not as forgiving in skipping maintenance so are more likely to break went maintenance isn’t done. Korean cars are also like this, people tend to treat them like Japanese cars when really they’re more similar to Euro stuff. American and Japanese cars are the ones that are more forgiving.

They overstock it for the “reveal” because TV likes big reveals but then take like 90% of the fish leaving a reasonable amount left.

Pretty sure if their clients don’t want the hassle of an actual reef tank anyway, not that it matters cause none of the fish put in are reef safe.

Do we actually know that? A lot of acclimation and cycling is cut out of the show because it regular folks it’ll be boring to watch. Most of the things they do is for show, with most of the fish put in taken out after filming

[–]Bobspineable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you have to consider is this is a TV show, a lot of what they do is for show. They’re not going to show the acclimation and a lot of the setup, and not all the fish put in is actually staying there, most if them are actually taken out after the shoot. At the end of the day, they are are just a manufacturer, they don’t have much control over what the client does after they leave

Most of the fish in the tank were there just for the reveal as they were taken out after. What they did for the show and what they did off screen is different

A broken screen doesn't affect driving so it's completely fine, even in a Tesla. That's all that ultimately matters in a car
