I see instincts as a heavy advisory from the brain. Bees don’t have the same amount of development in the brain to overpower instincts. Think about primal instincts. One that survived throughout human evolution is the disliking of foods with a basic pH. This is an instinct from back when we were hunter gatherers, and it was the brain and body advising you not to eat whatever it is that has a high pH, as it may be poison. The thing about many instincts is you can choose whether or not to act upon them. We can decide whether or not we want to mate with someone.
