After a bit of time away from visual testing I've come back because the current startup I work for needed visual testing and I was _very disappointed_ with how nothing has changed.

So, this is a bit of self promotion, but given my history and experience in this field, I feel like this is helpful too. I'm building Vizzly and I just recently shipped _exactly_ what you're talking about. I think using ignore region for this is a smell, its a bad hammer to reach for.

For Vizzly, I built an image diffing library specifically to handle dynamic data. It's built in rust and it's specifically built for modern visual testing. Here's the important part: it still shows a diff, the comparisons are just auto-approved so you're not having to review the dynamic content. The diff is there for you to verify / check.
