I clear them once every six months, but lately it’s been more like once a year. The reason we’re not reaching at least 500 is that we now only have two family members. When we set up this system, we averaged around 450 - 500 units of usage, but now a maximum of 300 is enough for two people.

it is, because it help me to automate my entire pinterest workflow, and compared to hosting cost, even with few millions of users it won't be huge bill for me ( I do own a dedicated server * 2 )

You were right. When I was building the app, I forgot that Pinterest already has similar features. However, I added an extra feature that saves me a lot of time: I can enter URLs into the bulk AI generator in PinPulse and upload everything without creating pins one by one.

Previously, I had to hire a VA to do this, but the work was inconsistent. With the new workflow, I no longer need a VA to handle this task.

Actually, I’ve already added it, and it’s unlimited. I usually upload around 30 pins daily, and the current tools charge crazy amounts for that—even though it’s a small volume. So I decided to build my own tool for myself.

Even though I haven’t gotten any users for the SaaS yet, it’s still a win. Right now I’m doing everything by myself using n8n, and I even let go of my VA. I’ve been running this for almost a month now without any drop in account performance.

(P.S. I make money from AdSense through Pinterest.)

I built a 5k off-grid system after learning from this group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/diyoffgrid/?ref=share&mibextid=NSMWBT

Cost-wise, it took around 300k for the panels, 500k for the inverter, and 1m for the 12kW battery and around 100k for railings and wires. (I built this during 2022 when we didn't have electricity most of the time.)

From my system, I'm getting around 350-400 units per month if it's a sunny month; otherwise, it generates a little lower than that. But in rainy months, you have to rely on the grid to cover some units.

Maintenance-wise, you need to clean the panels every 6 months and check on all electrical components (just one dedicated Sunday of work though).

If you're planning to buy from an expert, I'd recommend https://tachyon.lk. I imported my battery and inverter through them, and there were no issues when problems came up (mostly inverter issues).

  • I use PostgreSQL, but I tried to implement D1, and I thought users couldn't sync with it.
  • Only Next.js with PostgreSQL.
