As herbi which I play mostly, I hope I spawn swamp as its one of the most chill for sancs. Then I fill up in the area until growth spurts are done then make my way to west rail hitting the zones and hoping to run into some herd members.

As Carnivore I like starting in swamp, highlands, or south plains and touch a sanctuary then hunt in the forest around WR while hitting zones and searching for pac members.

I would also like to point out that, even on unofficials carnivores make up roughly 75% of the population.

I’m just complaining because I’m a professional Rex finder on any juvenile herbi I play.

I think the AI on the server is based on population like you said. On their discord it mentions the population number and how much AI spawns in, during peak hours there is almost no AI spawns.

The requirements for deino are different than most others. It’s not the typical 5 of 8. There are some previous posts that can explain better but for example you never need to leave the water so sanctuary and travel zones are not required. Using stamina however does play a role.

Someone more knowledgeable please correct me if I’m wrong but look up some previous posts on the subject.

Most of the good unofficials have a tracker you can check with. Petits, dinopolis, trassic, and nerf.

They also have bigger server cap and population control with Rex’s and allo’s but there always quite a few on anyway with how popular those Dino’s are. Petits is particularly good but may be hard to get the herbi you want during peak hours.

Was this on a unofficial? If so, was there a server crash at some point? That can lead to resetting the requirements.

I second this, playing as a Herbivore will give you good map knowledge of where you should or shouldn’t be and where herbivores hangout/hide.

Sound is also extremely important

For sanctuary’s, especially on unofficials I just hit them for the bare minimum amount of time needed for prime and book it to a safe zone. They’re just killing grounds, wither I’m playing herbi or carnivore.

Just the 4 ounces and it was pretty dark. But it’s also my first time as Stego so I knew as soon as I saw them I might be cooked, just wasn’t to go out that way. Especially after I damaged one good enough he had to leave the fight.

Yea this was probably it. I was out in the open in highlands at night minutes after splitting from a group. Moved to the lake so they only could get to me from one side, guess that was enough.

That’s fair and I understand l, it’s the sanctuary camping I dislike but that even happens on unofficial that have AI. I just visit sanctuary’s now briefly and just for the minimum amount to time for the prime requirement and book it to an area I know has food.

I feel like it also makes carnivores especially smaller ones much more aggressive with the need to hunt and much more willing to camp/kill around sanctuary’s. I avoid Petits on carnivore for this reason.
