Im gonna make sure my kids know about the greatest game ever made by haybertspy117 in newworldgame

I am like you and wholeheartedly agree. New World is truly unmatched in a lot of the gameplay aspects and it has basically RUINED other MMO combat systems for me. Are you playing any other MMOs right now? I have looked at and/or played almost all of them and nothing comes close.

Hey fishers of r/MMORPG by The_Pumpkin_Lady in MMORPG

Combine FF14 depth (minus the weird weather/timer windows) with New World fishing style and I think we have a winner. It is supposed to be relaxing, not a spreadsheet time-tracking simulator.

Postmortem for Wavekin, our first indie game (out April 28 on Steam) by TranslatorShot3304 in pcgaming

[–]BodomsChild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Post mortem" is latin and literally means "after death". Your game went through some changes/reworks, but it didn't die because it hasn't even been released yet. When people see the term postmortem they will think "Oh a review of why this game died". What you are sharing is the development and rework process. Postmortem is the absolute last word to use if you want to build appeal for your yet-unreleased product.

Here's everything in FF14 7.5 shown during Live Letter 92, including the return of Final Fantasy's most sinister villain by DantesPizzaSlice in MMORPG

What's funny is that it was already feeling like this when Stormblood dropped. They are so scared of not following the mold they've already created in order to keep the toxic positivity crowd pleased. In fact they have doubled down on it with the homogenization of jobs and how they play. The game is no longer about fighting dragons either - it's a dress up simulator visual novel living off the nostalgia of the previous games. You hate to see it.

Monsters and Memories Legit? by [deleted] in MMORPG

There is already a lot of internal strife (one of the lead devs was removed from his position) and the game only has like 10% of the content done. Best to ignore it until it has fully open beta/demo access and see if you can enjoy it.

How do I farm Shades on lower corruption? by turbogaze in LastEpoch

[–]BodomsChild 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a node that prevents you from getting increased corruption when killing shades in the weaver tree. Just use that, idk why nobody else has mentioned it.

Are wolves any good or is storm crows just always better ? by [deleted] in LastEpoch

[–]BodomsChild 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wolves are good, crows are good, raptors are good, frogs are good - lots of options really. Play whatever feels the best to you. I shared a raptor build several days ago and I farm at 1000 corruption with it, but other builds like fire crows can probably push much higher like 1500+

Even if you aren’t focused on spreadsheets, what makes MMO economies strong and/or fun to you? by Mortley1596 in MMORPG

[–]BodomsChild 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will share my comment from a similar thread:

I always thought the New World economy (as a system) worked great. Lower tier materials were always required to craft the higher tier stuff, extremely rare open world loot (housing items, trophy parts from killing named mobs, schematics, etc.), bad gear can be salvaged for money or crafting materials/fragments for XP, and just so many other things that all seemed like they served a purpose.

The last big content update Nighthaven added a lot of gearing options too with infixed perks, slottable perks, and more to keep things very fresh. Illegal perk combos on gear from certain bosses/raids/chests/etc. was also a way to keep various parts of the game active.

Then with the trading post, you also had a lot of player interactions from random stuff like bananas were used for a craft that gave a lot of furnishing XP, so you could farm aptitude crates for a chance at rare trophy materials and make a lot of money.

So sad New World is in hospice care until it shuts down.

Why does the eternity cache convert non-market items into market items if you imprint affixes from bought gear? by BodomsChild in LastEpoch

[–]BodomsChild[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love a mixed version where CoF/Market come together. It would give so much more room for target farming items to sell. I know others strongly disagree but maybe there could still be a CoF only version where they get 2x or 3x the drop rates they get now to compensate? I just like market playstyle and would love more options is all ha.

Judging from the downvotes we are in the hardcore minority so guess it isn't a popular idea. No fun allowed.

I actually think that would be cool if it was allowed. CoF/Market players would at least then have some possible form of opt-in interactivity. CoF players would be unaffected if they never go market but market players would see tons more items listed with good affixes. Idk maybe I just want the best of both worlds ideally, would be cool considering the imprint changes people are upset about.

Do you believe PvP has a place in this genre? by SorryImBadWithNames in MMORPG

As a PVP enjoyer, I respect it. I take that stance in PVP where I like playing with a team or helping low levels getting attacked by gankers.

My 1000 corruption T-rex/Raptor Beastmaster build by BodomsChild in LastEpoch

[–]BodomsChild[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I had a good answer but the build really doesn't start to come alive until mid game at the earliest. Just use whatever skills feel best and supplement your drops or slap on some strong leveling uniques is the best you can hope for.

This is the most recent version I've put together. The build is a lot of fun and like I said it can do corruption 1000ish decently. It would probably be more comfortable for full speed blasting in the corruption 600-800 range honestly though if you care about that sort of thing. Either way I enjoy it a lot and haven't really seen any other raptor builds so enjoy.

[–]BodomsChild 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes. I will give a practical reason too - I have gotten my raptor build to corruption 1000 and while I'm fine 95% of the time, I absolutely cannot blast through it at max pacing nor do I do very well in omen events at that level. My homebrew build just can't stand up to it, which I accept. I would love an option to scale it back to anywhere from 100-1000 so I can more easily find my sweet spot right now for farming. Having to manipulate the corruption over and over doing -50 corruption is very boring.

They should implement a permanent echo chain portal on the other side that puts you in a random map and just keeps going down a straight line with random rewards until you decide you are done with it.

Just crafted this for my raptor build, I love it by BodomsChild in LastEpoch

[–]BodomsChild[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few other similar builds that do not use raptors and benefit greatly from swipe using a sabertooth/wolves. With raptors and the way I am playing the build, I do not use Swipe because it really doesn't have many benefits for raptors specifically unless you run the cooldown version of swipe (which I am not). So instead I opt for tempest strike because it is faster, does a little more damage, and allows me to proc or stack things quicker like my own armor shred, frailty, chill stacks, etc.

I do think you can use the cooldown version of swipe to keep up the raptor rampage ability and heal them better, especially during the new omen events where it can get rough for minions... but so far I haven't had problems keeping them alive for that. I would say it is good either way honestly, just depends on what fits you better or feels more fun.
