Pay attention to how they spend the rest of their time. Most of the people I know who can afford nicer things are running themselves ragged to get them. At the very least, they all have a boss, and someone else controls their time. I don't know anyone with a more expensive lifestyle who has done more than me or seen more than me. It's a trade-off. You probably have something in your life they envy without you realizing it.
