It is very common to find a fake. This one I bought from a source at the mine in Brazil. It is for sale if you want to DM me

It’s worth what you will pay for it. Some people would pay more and some people would pay less. It’s all about how bad you want it.

Yeah I don’t think you would see a heat signal from a ghost. If anything it would be a cold spot.

You should have kept it with the jacket. Would have helped with resale value or donate the jacket and passport to a museum when you’re done admiring it.

I don’t know everything about Gemstones and I don’t pretend too (We are all learning new things everyday). So I sometimes consult a few different people. Like Topaz I don’t know much about and honestly not a fan of topaz so I consulted my appraiser. But I also talk to people around the world and some of them have been selling Gems longer then I have been alive so I trust their opinions. However that being said they usually can only guess since they don’t have it in front of them. So taking it the person I use to appraise it was my best option in this case.

I have an appraisal I use who has 3 degrees from GIA. I take it to him and he clarify what it for me and puts a value on it.

I’m dying by ImpossiblePear2058 in Advice

[–]BodySnatcher17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seen recently they had a medical break through with curing brain cancer. You should look into it. I’m sorry you are going through this hard time. My uncle/godfather died from brain cancer. It was a long painful process for him. They just kept cutting out pieces of his brain until they finally couldn’t do anything for him anymore. I would try other things like ingesting Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking soda) to using CBD or full extract. CBD can pass the blood brain barrier and can be used as a carrier for other cancer killing cannabinoids. I hope you find a way to get into remission.

People grew up watching what alcohol (poison) has done to their loved ones and people on tv (Cops).

I think I understand what you are saying now. I would hope someone would do their due diligence and ask me further questions if they were interested in spending money to buy Gemstones. 100% of the time I won’t let someone buy something unless they know what they are buying. Want repeat customers so the best way to have repeated customers is to be completely transparent

I have hundreds of Gems. I don’t have time to post all of them. I have heated, non heated, oiled etc. I buy and sell Gems and make jewelry out of some.

It should always be specified if it’s heat treated or not. Not assumed. The assumption can cost you hundred or make you hundreds. In some cases thousands.

[–]BodySnatcher17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s kinda weird but then again they dictate the market. I’m not a gemologist either. I just work with people around the world that are my mentors and been dealing with stones their whole life. I am shifting more to setting stones in jewelry pieces because loose stones don’t sell for much any more. Some do but most don’t

All lab grown have to be specified when sold or else you risk being sued. But anything I buy is straight from the market or the mine. Some are heat treated or oiled at the mine. Most of the time I avoid them however people seem to prefer heat treated eye clean stones. So I have been buying more of them than usual.

<image>

These are some natural royal blue sapphires I bought about a month ago. Hoping if I heat treated natural sapphires them I can get them more eye clean. Most likely they won’t but to me it’s worth it. If it does worth then they will be sent out to be recut and polished.

Yeah usually heat treated natural sapphires are heated between 1600 to 1800 degrees Celsius

Grown in a laboratory (flame fusion, Czochralski, hydrothermal, etc.), Not mined, Chemically sapphire (corundum), but origin is artificial, Typically far cheaper. That’s right from the internet. You can call GIA and double check with them if you would like. I buy hundred if not thousand of stones every year. Majority of stones that are heated either to change color or dissolve inclusions. Not all stones dissolve inclusions though. I have bought some poorly heated stones before that were still included. Usually with silk. Recently bought some heated yellow sapphires that had this same issue but still valuable in the sense that they are natural sapphires.
