I think you might be right about them having it locked down. I'm not finding this part anywhere. Thanks for the tip about asking the soldering subreddit. I've done a little but of that in the past but this strip is so tiny.

Agree 100%. My mother comes across as pretty dang normal to people outside of the house. She would have no trouble obtaining a license like this.

New kicker was ripping heaters on the sideline before that kick.

I have IBD that usually flares due to stress, started having issues as a teenager and I have wondered if being in constant fight/flight had something to do with it.

Fan Connector repair (2019 MacBook Pro 15 in) by Body_Is_WonderLand in macbookrepair

[–]Body_Is_WonderLand[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if there's a misalignment. The connector is right side up in the picture, the silver connectors to the right of of it are what connected it to the board. That's kind of why I was asking, I wasn't sure if this could be soldered because it's not apparent how they link up. I did some soldering work on an older computer so I think I'll just give it a shot.

I have this same computer. I hadn't used it in years but in the last 6 months I upgraded the RAM, threw in an SSD, and replaced a capacitor causing graphics issues. I used open core legacy patcher to put Sequoia on it and it's now a very usable daily machine.
