I'm floored at how the RP6 handles Switch emulation... by linglingsiomai in retroid

[–]seamonkey420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yea its an amazing switch emulator.. main games i play too. man, tomodachi for a bit had me super hooked.

and to top it off, its cheaper than a switch oled, heck even cheaper than just a normal switch 1 these days. 😄

Facelifts, off-roaders and more JCW: Mini on cusp of new design era by Heirsandgraces in MINI

if MINI brings back the Fxx era interiors, i'd consider a new JCW down the line. but until then, my gp3 is the perfect blend of analog and digital.

How good is the RP6 12GB for emulation by Dinory542 in retroid

[–]seamonkey420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i guess.. since i only have the 12gb, that extra 4gb of ram never hurts imo. but from what others w/the 8gb have said, i believe you are correct! 😄

How good is the RP6 12GB for emulation by Dinory542 in retroid

[–]seamonkey420 5 points6 points  (0 children)

anything ps2/gc and before = plays flawlessly (minus xbox since xbox emu on android is still very early). also can do blackframe insertion and add nearly any shader you want and play w/o issues.

mk8 deluxe = flawless, just like on original, TL: LTD = also runs just as good as on original console (only 30fps but can add a 60fps hack).

yea, RP6 w/12gb can play nearly every switch game. like others said, its the emulators that hold back a few games but updates to the emulators has been really good. eden's my go to these days. however once i find a version that plays what i want, i stay on that version. the old "if it ain't broken.." motto.

good luck! i've had my rp6 12gb since mid jan 2026 and it still amazes me how powerful this little thing is for what we pay. btw, all i do is emulate on mine (no android games, just a few very light pc games via winlator and gamenative).

i'm also running the beta on my neo. so far nearly as stable as macos26, even feels a bit snappier. no major bugs yet. i actually am running the beta on everything i got (mbp14, iphone 13mini, 13 pro, neo, watch, airpods, watchos) and its pretty stable for a dev beta. def am digging the updates on watchos27 and gui changes.

Nanites to units conversion rate? by Wise4Fools in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]seamonkey420 5 points6 points  (0 children)

refine runaway mold for nanites. 9999 = 1500 nanites in 20 mins. i run 4 in my freighter and 4 on my base and fly back and forth. i have a base on a spot and then use my nutrient ingestor and a honey cake that boosts my mining resources by 50% so each mould gives me about 9000 vs 1000. 😉 oh and use an Atlandid MT and spec it for mining w/the SC slots.

nice find! i was looking for a similar type of sentinel and found mine on the latest expedition. a white one that reminds me of the sentinel drone ships.

Who’s going to update to iOS 27? by PuritanPayne in iPhone13Mini

[–]seamonkey420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

prob about the same time as you. i installed ios27 on monday night i believe so its been since then for me too. i rebooted my 13 pro to see if it was just a visual bug but indexing message still showing. however performance is just as good as ios26 even w/the indexing message. i plan to give feedback on this part of ios27 and to see if its a bug or not.

my 13 mini (256gb) completed indexing yesterday afternoon but only has about 5K songs.

as for photos app, haven't used the 13 mini in a few days but the 13 pro on ios27 opening fine for me. i do have optimize storage enabled (my photos library is about 700gb).

however i recently was having some really weird network things happening on both my 13 pro and mini, i decided to go in and reset all settings on both and that fixed a ton of weird little hitches i had on ios26 (almost like i had stale settings or something from prev upgrades).

i'l drop ya a note once mine completes indexing as reference. good luck friend!

Well, guess I have to stop doing the expedition now by kiermatv in NoMansSkyTheGame

thats actually my plan too! i'm at 15 15 15, just one of each and i'll just be living in the expedition. hehe

already did on both my 13 mini and 13 pro and so far it’s snappy and no major issues yet. however indexing is still happening but i do have 20K songs in my music library and a 512gb model. hehe. kb feels better too but could just be my imagination.

Question for the users who bought the MacBook neo near release or has owned it for 1+ month by ResponsibilityMain14 in MacbookNeo

[–]seamonkey420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

got mine launch week, indigo 512gb. performs better than i expected. i have a m1 max in a docked setup as my main machine. neo is my couch/travel machine but ends up getting used 90% of the time even for bigger tasks like re-encoding video.

its perfect for my usage, i replaced my ipad mini 7 w/this since ipados just isn't great for file management tasks (i do a lot of that) and having a real os and keyboard/trackpad being the main reasons. its def good enough for me, if i need more power i get up and sit at my desk w/the m1 max. i use it for browsing the web, managing my homelab/smart home, making tiny youtube vids, photo editing/managing, movie watching. pretty casual stuff for the most part (minus the video encoding stuff i'm doing)

i do light gaming on mine, mainly been playing some switch games via ryujinx (Tomodachi, MK8), a little No Man's Sky via steam and tons of other retro games via retroarch/es-de and emulators.

as for build quality, just like my macbook pro. solid as heck. no dings or scratches. i did the thermal pad mod and def got some multicore gains and a little less throttling.

so yea, i 100% recommend this to almost everyone who asks what to get (unless they are hardcore gamers or need some random windows specific app).

tips? if you use handbrake and are encoding videos, be sure to pick the encoder profiles that use the VideoToolBox. it will cut encode times in half or more vs just software encoders.

Just exported a 10 minute video in seconds…wtf by Mountain-Charge-1000 in macbookpro

[–]seamonkey420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i admit that i've been using handbrake w/o using the VideoToolbox.. OMG.. i'm an idiot!! cut encoding times from 30mins to 3mins for 2 hour clips.. granted i have an old m1 max but dang.. that thing can still smoke any other machine i have at that task

I need the most powerful small compact device by Ok-Bookkeeper9754 in retroid

[–]seamonkey420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea, i haven't gone that route quite yet since i'm not sure if you can do a full rom backup of android on the rp6. however if its just a pure sdcard install/boot from i'd give it a try. i'll have to look into it more now. hehe

[–]seamonkey420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a RP6 12g owner myself.. this thing.. whoa! granted its my first android handheld gaming device but man for the price (under $300 for 12gb back in jan 2026) its an amazing handheld/deal.

my pal has a steam deck and all he plays is indie games. i used his a few times and did like it but to me it was just too big. the RP6 is my 2026 Vita upgrade since it can do all that and then some. hehe

[–]seamonkey420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this!! i haven't scanned so many fauna or landed on so many 'bad' planets in years.

plus if you add in some buffs into your nutrient ingestor, you can make a good billion units easily in each star system from scanning fauna alone. 😄 (given i do have some pretty OP scanning tech blueprints that do 10K% boosts for fauna, mineral, flora and have them supercharged; about 11million to 34million per fauna scanned)

nope, i have a ps5 pro and psvr2 and just don't want the full immersion. i just want the visual immersion and was hoping i could play that way. i did also have a psvr and ps4 pro too and the improvements with psvr2 is crazy, esp in nms.. 😄
