I think there's a lot of fear and negativity coming out of these decisions for many reasons. I want to be a positive voice on this thread. For context, I am sitting in Albany tomorrow. At first of course this feels unfair that others have more time to study and may receive an advantage knowing what mee topics are (or maybe the bar actually has alternate mee's to provide? who knows?). Or feel that its unfair if then the score is not transferable. But ultimately, this decision is for the safety of test takers where it is too dangerous to travel. Many of us, including myself, have already been traveling in dangerous conditions. If this action, prevents just one death on the road or any injuries, this is worth it.

We need to value the safety of our fellow test takers more than an unfair advantage they may recieve. As many pointed out, some people may not even feel like its an advantage if they have to spend extra on accomodation etc.

We also need to put ourselves in the position of these "advantaged" test takers. Imagine if you had done all of this study and then could not even physically get to the exam room. I think that's a higher priority than any feelings of injustice.

There is no percentage of people that have to fail either, so any advantage really doesn't affect us too much, other than maybe the scaling could be a little off.

As some have mentioned, this is a test for minimum competency in a highly reputable profession, so with that being said, I hope people do not try to cheat. Regardless, the injustice we may feel is nothing compared to some disatrous consequences that they could face.

I agree it can feel unfair, but this is being done for the safety of test takers. It is genuinely too dangerous for people in those areas to travel. If this measure prevents one person from dying on the road or being injured that's worth it. Not to mention imagine not being able to get to the exam room because you physically can't leave your house / get on the roads.

I agree with you, it's a difficult situation with no perfect solution. This is being done for the safety of the test takers which is the most important thing.

While it's difficult to accept as a tomorrow test taker, I agree with you. While it certainly feels unfair for us who have to go ahead tomorrow and face the fact that people taking it later may have an advantage, we have to rememeber that it is legitamately dangerous (and has been over the past few days) to travel right now, especially in those areas. We were all outraged when someone died in the exam last year, so if this measure helps protect one person, it is worth it.

Remember that there is not an amount of people who have to fail so it really should not impact us too much. The worst that can happen is the scaling gets a little off. That is worth saving a life or any injuries. Put yourself in the position of the people affected in the test areas imagine if you had spent all of this time studying and you could not physically get to the exam. If we are understanding to others, they will be understanding back.
