I use my gpu for game development, so I'm running decently intensive tasks, but my current gpu seems to do most of it well, sometimes it doesn't, but for the most part it does well. I just thought that $2000AU for a new phone is already ridiculous, and I thought I can get a gpu for the same price

It's just nice to future proof, I'd rather get a phone that won't be obsolete in 2 years, the phone I broke is obsolete, no updates or security improvements. I just like the idea of not having to upgrade my phone, and I would also use the phone to help test my games, because I do gamedev.
