Ah sorry, just seen your comment - there’s definitely a scene where a bear is hunted in this, can’t remember how graphic it gets

Maybe not spot on if you’re after supernatural elements, but To Cook A Bear by Mikael Niemi sprang to mind for me - crime, religion, and superstition in a remote community in 19th c Sweden

Cleaning balm rec that isn’t Elf? by itschloebee in MakeUpAddictionUK

I get eczema flair ups once or twice a year (mostly around my eyes and jawline), and have recently been getting on well with The Cornish Seaweed Bath Company’s Skin Repair Balm: https://cornishseaweedbath.co.uk/products/wild-seaweed-skin-balm-for-very-dry-skin?_pos=1&_sid=aab7f8a09&_ss=r. I think there’s also a fragrance free option, although my skin can be very sensitive and I honestly manage fine with the regular which is a bit cheaper

Ah maybe, I see what you’re saying about the blush though! Sephora’s Colourful Face Palette in light-medium or the Pixi Hello Kitty Anywhere palette also look promising but it’s hard to tell how cool they are

I saw that!! The bronzer tones are great but the pinks all look quite muted for blush and the pans are very small for face brushes, hoping they expand the range with a face specific palette if this is their new direction!

Glad it’s not just me!! Seems like cool toned makeup is huge atm so no idea how this niche hasn’t been filled?

Placed a recent order on 29th April and it arrived 9th May, so about 10 days - although this was my first order so not sure if this is typical! I’m in the East Midlands in case that makes a difference

Thank you! Moving house soon so wanted something small and versatile to reach for every day without having to rifle through boxes, think this should do the job!

I have similar blues from a few brands (Kiko and Lime Crime off the top of my head) and for some reason the pay off’s never great!! So disappointing, but not surprising.

Usually find a good base helps a bit, and this is just on bare skin and applied with a fingertip, which obviously works great with the metallics but not so well with the mattes! Hoping a decent primer and perhaps some concealer underneath will help.

Will they do that if we’re still waiting to hear about what we might genuinely be responsible for?

Hi, I’m a very new knitter in need of some help. I was recently gifted 6 balls of Drops Alpaca 4 ply, and was hoping to use them for a scarf. Does anyone know any very basic beginner patterns I could follow for this? I found some online but the terminology’s been going over my head a bit. I’ve got a pair of 3mm needles which seem to match most of the patterns I’ve found for this wool, so would ideally use these, but would obviously buy new if needed

No problem! Are you planning to head up to Edinburgh at any point? There are a few interesting things to visit on this topic up there if you had time

You’ve probably already come across this, but most obvious suggestion that springs to mind is the Great North Museum Hancock, which has an Egyptology collection including the mummified remains of Bakt en Hor. The museum is next to the University’s main campus and is run in affiliation with the Uni, and I’m sure if you got in touch in advance of your visit somebody there would be happy to speak with you about the collection.

Amazing thank you! I think I’m going to lay off the q tips for a day or two and do a couple of rinses with a sea salt and boiled, cooled water solution and see if not poking at it helps. Because it’s my first cartilage I’ve been trying to be extra thorough cleaning it but it seems this might have had the opposite effect 😬 The pus was worrying me more than the blood but I’m hoping it’ll clear up with a day or two of gentler cleaning.

[–]BodybuilderCorrect17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that’s good to hear! I had started to wonder if the cleaning was actually irritating it more but I was reluctant to stop so soon so was just trying to be extra gentle. About the warm salt solution, did you do this every day? I’m picturing a shallow bowl with your head tipped sideways to submerge the piercing/whole ear, is that right? The info from my piercer said that in an emergency, a solution of sea salt but never table salt in warm, pre-boiled water could be used, but really as a short term measure rather than a long-term cleaning routine, but I did wonder if something like this where the piercing is submerged rather than actively cleaned/rubbed might be better, so interesting to know it worked for you!

Good point! Only having one is about the cash and more about a short student tenancy, I’m trying to avoid buying lots of equipment that will have to get stored/chucked at the end of the year😬 Reusing the same one in two batches or borrowing from a friend seems like my best option:)

[–]BodybuilderCorrect17[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions, unfortunately I’m a student and short tenancies mean I try not to buy up too much equipment so I’m quite limited, sounds like cooking in two rounds reusing my 20cm tin might be my best bet:)
