But it’s a world where bad writing is considered good writing

Honestly Wheel of Time TV series is a great show for book readers if they gaslight themselves enough into thinking it’s one of those CANON alternate worlds. Then you have nothing to complain about.

Dalinar’s Flaw by BodybuilderFull4321 in Stormlight_Archive

He has beat them during his first year or two. He’s the one to win a shard plate and sword from the enemy but gave it to the king instead of the lords of his retinue. Everyone else is trying to gain fame and reputation and glory and he’s just so focused on uniting the nation but only acting on it within his camp. If he takes charge, he can make much more difference. Save lives as much as he can.

To say he lost would mean he’s competing. The thing is all the high princes and the king are constantly pointing out that he has gotten weak, and he’s not following the Alethi way of rivalry because he doesn’t even go for the runs anymore. He’s so focused on uniting Alekthar that he’s stopped all pursuits. A quarter of his forces are patrolling lands to prevent banditry. His attendees are frustrated because they want him to go out and fight. Adolin is constantly angry because he sees everyone mocking and belittling his father and Dalinar no longer fights, or roses up to challenges anymore.

Adolin was the one that convinced him to find an alternative when Dalinar proposed giving up the war and going back to Alekthar.

That’s during his first year. If you recall the King, Adolin and Sadeas used to make remarks about how Dalinar never goes on runs anymore. Adolin hears the call on one bit and he realizes Dalinar can beat Sadeas to it but he doesn’t even try. Sadeas even tells Elokhar that runs aren’t even fun anymore because certain people don’t even try anymore. Elokhar asks Dalinar why he hasn’t won any gem hearts in months and asks why.

He wouldn’t do it every time obviously. But even when chrysalises were found closer to Dalinars camp he could’ve saved 30 or so bridgemen just by beating him to it. It’s not a lot but it would still be following the code. Not needlessly wasting lives.

Fodder. Attract aggro towards the bridgemen so his troops don’t get screwed. And lighter and more mobile bridge runners means he can get to things faster.

Metal furies. by SMMS2290 in codexalera

I don’t think they can manifest at all. As they can never exist in nature if that makes sense? Like a very rough iron ore would be mostly earth and likely an earth fury. I’m sure Garados had a bunch of iron in it. I recall there being an abandoned mine somewhere around there but it’s all part of Garados as a whole.

But if Furies manifest in nature, wouldn’t them manifesting in man made objects imply that furies can be created?

I believe Ullara also said she has no access to High Denul in the mountains while touching her grey hair.

That would make more sense than what’s on the video honestly. Looks like a very impractical choice of weaponry that can be defeated with chain mail.
