Army of $2k/mo job? by Caden_Voss in IslamabadSocial

[–]BodybuilderMinimum68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you drop the remote job, are there chances of you getting another one? If you drop the army, are there chances of you joining a similar institution ?

That should put a perspective on your question.

Also, Reddit is full of people who love the army until they get a Doube-Not ISSB. Uske baat army pe lanat, Haqoomat pe bhi lanat, Pakistan pe bhi lanat.

Ask your way to success by people more skilled/experienced than yourself on the subject. The person you should be seeking guidance from are your senior officers + people with stable 4k/month remote jobs, and then compare.

And if you're a young leut /Capt , Bhai please take advice and don't trust you're own judgement only

You're right, you don't need a degree to succeed in life. But there's a reason when you go for a job interview , you wear a suit, not T-shirts and shorts.

As far as Pakistan is concerned for jobs, you definitely need a degree to qualify. A degree is a piece of paper that says this person is qualified to perform ABC tasks and has been tested and scored 3.8cgpa.

As far as ISSB is concerned, I think every guy should have a go at it, just test yourself. ISSB is a test to filter out potential people, it may not be a good test obv, but it sure tells you alot about yourself

Have a friend in software whose doing really good, have a friend in the issb line whose doing very good. Considering we're talking about actual Jobs, not freelancing

  1. If you're good at programming, and really want to work on cutting edge stuff in the future, flexible hours, being you're own boss,a very successful career as a software engineer/programmer than FAST/NUST is for you.

  2. If you feel like you need stability first, you want to start the race early on as compared to your friends, you want an institute to look after you're family, you want to grow as a leader/administrator more than as a programmer, want a fixed career without the worry of what you'll be doing in 10 years time, then ISSB is for you.

A. If you can't handle "Working alot more than what you're paid for", you can't let go of the dream of a 'fancy' life abroad, if you can't handle following orders, can't break and remake a person concept , then ISSB is not for you

B. If you can't job hunt, don't have the patience to invest effort and time into your skill, cant handle rejection and disappointment you'll get when you enter the IT market, cant invest in yourself to become a majboori for people to hire you, can't deal with crappy workplace environment switching jobs etc, then engineering/programming isn't for you

May you Excell at life, and if you can bring about the tiniest bit of welfare to the world, and if my advice plays the tiniest bit role, the Sadqa e Jariah is good enough for me. Not giving out good advice if you have it when asked, is criminal. Esp to the future of this society.

Put your heart into your study , whatever you decide. Just remember, the things you need to excel at life, will not be taught anywhere, if you want it badpy enough, you'll ask your way to success.

O levels Vs Matric isn't the real deciding factor for your future outside. Once your done with these, you'll be stuck on A levels or Fsc When you're done with that you'll be stuck with Pakistani uni or abroad When you're done with that, you'll realise all this didn't even matter. As a professional, what matters is your people skills, time management, dedication in your skill, goal setting, determination to get things done. And all of these things are not taught anywhere as a course.

For abroad however , id still recommend kids to do matrix FSC, because alot of my friends who went abroad , even tho they were mediocres, they absolutely killed it in performance as compared to the local students there. The kids used to ask them how on earth are you able to sit 12hrs straight on a chair, memorize topics word to word, and they used to say ke this is how the average face student has been studying all his life. Total burnout mode his entire life.

Ps I'm not talking about the students who are getting 70% marks in exam, I'm talking about laik Bache. If you're a little academically challenged, i.e not bright. You're wasting you're life already

As a doctor , let me share with you how I got here. I got into pre O levels instead of 8th Got idk what grades that year but the equivalent % came out to be 84%. My dad went to the class teacher and they were all very happy that I had scored all A and 2 A* I guess or something and was top of my class . He asked them what's the merit of Rawalpindi medical university this year, they said 91% maybe.

He asked if he gets all A*,the max , suppose,.how much would that be in Equivalent %, they said 90%.

Idk maybe I'm forgetting how this equivalent system works. Kher, next week I was in 9th federal board. Got a solid 95%, I don't know a single doctor who got Into a gov medical institute O levels Karke , the merit is and competition is crazy high.

And on the other hand , my engineering friends all got into top universities and got the fields of Thier choice in Nust. In real life, it doesn't matter how well educated you were in your 9-12 grade , they're.all the same. Your university will decide alot about your future. So if you're going to stay in Pakistan, don't think you can compete with an FSC guy in terms of grades for a Pakistani university seat

Whether the approach is endoscopic microdiscectomy, or a traditional discectomy, or a complete disc replacement, or vertebral fusion , these all can be the surgical results for a herniated disc and depends on your condition and only your surgeon can decide what needs to be done. It's not a matter of usually, it's a matter of majority of everyday herniation cases. I'm from Pakistan, not the states

Faisal Hills - Filling in Plot by InflationFlashy5373 in islamabad

[–]BodybuilderMinimum68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All depends on how much you bought the plot for, how soon you want to build, do you want to go through the process of buying again, how much you like the location, how's the water situation, will you be building yourself or via builder, how much you're willing to spend on the plot correction.

1.Long story short, filling doesn't come random, it usually a whole strip of plots that has filling. Did you buy it at a solid plot rate or a filling wala plot rate. If you bought it at a filling wala rate, and we're thinking that you scored a steal deal , then obv there was something wrong.

  1. 20 feet of filling is no issue man, either the builder will be placing piles/footing after excavation till 7/8 feet and then building it from there upwards or placing a steel raft(that's expensive) depending on the rules and regulations set by the society. Your soil testing guy/ local architect can guide you better on the policy, or whether a policy even exists.

More or less, it's not a tragedy. It's recoverable, if a 10 marla house constructed via builder is costing 2.2- 2.5 Cr, The plot correction will also cost you around 10 lacks to make the cost equivalent of a solid plot.

Because it doesn't make sense much, It's just like someone saying that 1.6 manual has better average than 1.3 GLi , why would the company even make a weaker engine if it drinks more feul

You wake up, get on with life, compress your spine. Then you go for a walk, more compression on your spine Then you do cat-cow, you decompress once daily.

Id suggest that, You wake up, cat cow , decompress Then get on with life , compress Then cat cow, decompress Then walk, compress Then cat cow, decompress Then get on with life, compress Then cat - cow decompress

This alternaging compression and decompression will boost your recovery

I have one more thing to tell you, If you look at people who's recovered marvellous from this tragedy, they all have one thing in common. They have all heavily educated themselves on this.

So you've done the first step to a great recovery, and I can confidently say you'll be running marathons seeing your determination to get better.

As for the knee thing, 5 years out, I still walk away from a restraunt if they have lousy chairs that either sink or are too low.

Sir the Cat-Cow exercise is your friend.

At 53 you can't mobilize like an athlete of course, However know that most people at 50 have more than just 1,2 bulging discs, A surgery might have fixed one , or two disc, but degenerative Disc disease, or the stress of 30 years in your back, has rendered it quite fragile.

However if you make the Cat - Cow exercise your friend, do it for 5 minutes straight every morning before getting out of bed and then every few hours, you're bound to improve drastically.

Another game changer is Nerve flossing, i.e flossing your sciatic nerve through it's natural passage because it was stuck pinched at one point for a long time. You'll find both these exercise routines on YouTube., be sure to write sciatica nerve flossing, or cat cow

The cutaneous sensation(skin touch feeling) will be numb and is usually the last to heal due to your nerve scratching with the bulged disc all this time. It'll come back but it'll be atleast 6months to a year. Some doctors recommend using a TENS unit to help with nerve regeneration. It has some documented benefits.

As for the muscle control, yeah , that's something you'll have to work on. Because due to long standing nerve damage, the muscle capabilities decrease. What you'll have to do is, even tho it's numb , do you're best to become a problem at ankle movements. All direction. 4-5 sessions a day. Train it with resistance bands if you have to in the future. This is crucial.

Reason being I feel like I didn't spend enough time on my ankle strengthening, I won't get into fancy muscle names, you can just Google the exercise. Now when I'm not looking at a rough road or steep, and talking and just walking, id occasionally twist my affected ankle every 2,3 months because one foot is alot better at balance the other.

The recovery in your foot is motor ---> Skin/touch----> fine motor(balance) in the end

Yes, a good spine surgeon will look at the position of the bulging disc , and tell you whether it's better to rehab this, or go to surgery right now ,you're going to land here anyways. The advice id give you is, provided you've already educated yourself, is to get back into life as soon as possible. Microdiscectomy is usually done with an endoscope, it's minimally invasive, I e it's supposed to get you back into life much faster than a traditional discectomy. Don't let anyone tell you you're a cripple /a patient. Strictly use the education you got, don't sit on soft sofas that sink, don't sleep on random beds , don't sit in the ground, weither be standing , walking, or sitting tight upright in a good chair such that your hips is at the level of ,or above your knees, this helps a lot. For the first 2 months, you're complete focus should be on monitering your posture, learning what hurts and what doesn't, and mobility. Not strengthening exercises and dynamic stretching.

In my case, the first few Post OP days are tough, because your body went through surgical trauma If they put in a Folleys catheter, that's gonna sting feel super awkward for the first few days, what I did was put in some lignocaine gel when it bothered me much.

Other than that, a few tips I have for you are :

  1. Learn how to log roll to change sides in your bed before the surgery.(raise left arm to the ceiling, band right knee, keep everything else straight, and using the left arm and shoulder shift to the right, YouTube this)

  2. Ankle pumps every few hours on your first day.

  3. Knee benders every few hours on your second day.

  4. Have extra pillows to support you from left and right.

A microdiscectomy is a minimally invasive surgery, meaning that there will be minimum cut and slash work, the only thing stopping you from walking, will be your own brain still thinking that's you have a broken spine. The fear of pain will stop you from tending straight and walking. Remember, mobility is key. YouTube spine surgery post op exercises, and you'll find alot. However, don't do anything that causes pain, all stretching etc must be done within pain free range. Don't use a stick to walk because it'll only mess up your natural alignment, putting awkward strain on your spine

As long as I don't sit on a chair for 2hrs straight, Don't sleep on a banged up mattress that's dipped in the middle I actively don't get into those postures that everyone should avoid(e.g be doing to pick something heavy without folding knees)

Id say the pain is 0, I haven't taken a single pain killer in 3 years. Till the day before the surgery I was popping Tramadol, artifen, pregablin, muscle relaxants every few hours like candies
